“30 million? Where’d this kid come from?” The merchants turned in unison when Leon joined the
bidding.
“It’s just 30 million! I’ll bid!” The chubby merchant scoffed and was about to raise the price to bid
against Leon when his companion pulled at his arm.
“Steve forget it. Don’t bid against him!” The companion shook his head.
“Why not?” Steve was taken aback.
“Why don’t you take a look at who’s standing next to him? That’s the eldest daughter of the Morrisons!
You better give up if you don’t want to cross the Morrisons!” The companion lowered his voice clearly
having recognized Renee.
“Oh!” Steve turned and immediately spotted Renee. Feeling a chill down his spine he finally
understood why his companion stopped him.
The Morrisons were the head of all families in the western region and as the eldest daughter of such a
family Renee’s status was much higher than him.
Leon and Renee seemed close and Steve instantly concluded that Leon was likely someone with
similar status as Renee. A mere merchant like he could not afford to cross them.
This green jadeite was rare and could be sold for over 43 million if it was carved into someone.
However Leon had already raised the price to 30 million and if the merchants bid against him he
would only profit a little after deducting the time and production costs.
There was no point in crossing Leon and Renee over a small profit as it would not benefit him much.
Realization dawned on Steve and he instantly gave up on bidding.
The other merchants all recognized Renee and could tell that she was close to Leon.
Neither of them wanted to bid against Leon over a small profit as they did not want to cross Leon and
Renee.
Hence the others gave up on bidding as well.
“30 million?” The middle-aged man was pleased that Leon raised the price further.
He was already wavering when the merchants raised the price to 22 million. The fact that Leon offered
30 million for the jadeite was something he did not anticipate so he was overjoyed.
“Sir I’d like to offer 30 million for this jadeite. Will you sell it to me?” Leon asked.
“Oh of course!” The middle-aged man nodded.
However the situation changed in the next moment.
“Hang on we’ll offer 33 million!” Just then Aurelia’s prideful voice sounded and she stepped out of the
crowd with Bucky.
