Doctor’s Rebirth Chapter 1

Episode 1

001. The main character’s

body felt like it was going to be crushed. My throat was dry. My whole body ached as if I had been hit and I had no strength. My whole body was tingling and shaking, as if I had a bad cold.

“Ugh… Why does it hurt so much…?”

I woke up with a groan and muttered in pain.

“Did I catch the flu? “I need to take some fever reducer… huh?”

I forced my eyes open. There is a saying that if you listen to doctors carefully, you will live long and if you live like a doctor, you will die young. The world praises it as a great job, but in reality, it requires a lot of physical effort.

Until I got older, I rolled my body around and there was no place that didn’t hurt.

Jin Cheon-hee, a professor of general surgery at a university hospital, groaned and opened his eyes.

“Uh huh…?”

He opened his eyes and immediately let out an embarrassed groan.

I see tree branches. There is a blue sky and the air that touches your skin is quite warm. It was in the forest in late spring and early summer.

“…Was there a forest like this near our camp? “It must have been all desert?”

He put his hand to his forehead and frowned. My memory was confused. I vaguely remember what I was doing before I came to my senses.

Sabbatical year. I remember going to a remote area for medical service. My classmate was so obsessed with it that he went as if he was being dragged along.

‘Did you lift me and move me? No…there wouldn’t have been a forest like this near the medical relief camp?’

The country I visited to volunteer was in a state of drought and civil war. They worked very hard to treat injured and sick children.

As I think about the past one by one, I feel like my vision becomes a little clearer.

I still couldn’t remember what I did last night, but my mind felt quite clear.

‘Let’s not panic.’

As I took a deep breath, strength began to return to my body. The pain that was weighing down my entire body slowly went away. Then he turned his head and looked at his surroundings, but even though his strength returned, he could not move his legs.

“ha ha ha. “Is this a dream?”

Sunlight broke out of the clouds and illuminated the surroundings. He was just as mesmerized.

Because everything I saw around me was a corpse.

At that sight, my legs didn’t move as if they were frozen. He gently pinched his cheek.

sick.

“It’s not a dream…”

The pain I feel in my cheek is vivid. Still, I was glad that my legs could move now. Only then did Jin Cheon-hee have time to look around.

‘It’s not a movie set… Oh no. The smell of blood is this terrible, so it can’t be fake.’

Still, as a surgical knife operator, I was quite familiar with the smell of blood. But I couldn’t help but feel my heart trembling a little. No matter how you looked at the scene where he was standing, it looked like a place where a war had taken place.

‘The look on his face shows that rigor mortis hasn’t set in yet. It means less than two hours have passed since he died. ‘All of them are cuts or stab wounds from sharp weapons… but why aren’t there any gunshot wounds?’

Plus, the clothes were strange. No matter how you look at it, he was dressed like something you would see in a martial arts novel he enjoyed reading.

As he slowly examined the corpse, he suddenly realized that the pain he felt in his body had disappeared.

‘first. This is not a dream, it is reality. And I…’

He looked down at his hands.

‘small. ‘Are they the hands of a child?’

The shadow was also small. It looked like the body of a child around ten years old.

‘If you’re dreaming of becoming a child in the martial arts world, it’s more understandable.’

Jin Cheonhee pursed her lips. He started out with his bare hands, without his parents, and went through countless hardships. A strong spirit sustained him.

There were at least dozens of corpses around.

What appeared to be a carriage was broken into three pieces, and several people had their upper and lower bodies cut off by a single blow.

‘What kind of knife do you have to use to cut off human bones and muscles in one go?’

He looked down at his bloody hands again. It’s a fern hand.

‘The body of a child. It feels like I’m caught up in a divorce law that I only read about in novels. ‘Isn’t this called possession?’

I lightly shook myself off. Since there is no sense of reality at all, it makes me feel more cool-headed.

‘Judging by the clothes I’m wearing, it doesn’t look like I’m from a wealthy family… I guess I was attacked by thieves or bandits or something, since there’s nothing worth money for except the corpses.’

After thinking that far, he sighed heavily.

‘also. No matter how you look at this… it seems like a possession… something out of a novel. I don’t know if there was a time warp or something. Anyway, it’s definitely not Korea…’

Then a memory came to mind.

The rebels opened the tent and opened fire. I remember quickly wrapping my arms around the child. I don’t know why I covered it. The child screamed.

What next?

The world was dyed red. The child shouted ‘Doctor Doctor!’ in poor language.

Darkness came.

‘Ha… my life… I gritted my teeth at the orphanage, passed medical school, became a doctor, and became a professor. Did you die just because you were able to make a living and started volunteering? Haha, really, what are you doing?’

He stared blankly at the ground for a moment. Because he was a doctor, he managed to come into contact with corpses.

Maybe that’s why he wasn’t as scared as an ordinary person even though he was standing among corpses.

Or maybe he just realized how he had died and couldn’t think about anything else.

After gathering my thoughts for a while, I sighed deeply.

It was a sigh that you would never expect from a ten-year-old child.

‘okay. I need to keep my wits about me. I don’t know what happened, but it’s not the time to be here like this. If you stay here and the bandits come again, you could die.’

It was then.

“Keuuk… who… someone… please…”

Was there anyone alive? I ran to the sound of the voice and saw a middle-aged man with a bushy beard twitching.

He turned his eyes and found Jin Cheonhee.

“Sweetheart… my wife… give this… to my wife… I don’t mind dying… but my wife… not yet…”

He held the bloody bag. I handed it over.

Jin Cheon-hee did not receive the bag. Instead, he reached out and placed his hand on the middle-aged man’s wound. The man looked at Jin Cheon-hee with surprised eyes at that sight.

The man lost strength in his hands and dropped his pockets on the floor. The sound of money rings.

Grumble.

He had the body of a child of about ten years old, and instead of taking the money, he pressed the man’s affected area.

“I will stop the bleeding.”

The vein was compressed all at once, as if it had been done dozens, hundreds, or thousands of times.

“Keuuuuuuu!”

The man screamed in excruciating pain. Jin Cheon-hee thought that it was fortunate that she had the strength to scream.

‘Should I call this lucky or bad? Even though the laceration was this long, fortunately there were no internal injuries. But the wound was too long and there was a lot of blood. If we don’t suture it quickly…’

The front of the abdomen was split long. The wound was large enough to allow the internal organs to be seen, but fortunately there were no internal injuries.

‘There must be a way… a way.’

He looked around quickly. But there seemed to be no way to suture the wound. So, the middle-aged man reached into his pocket to hand it over.

‘Come out with something. come out.’

When I opened my pocket, I found that there were coins that were used in ancient China and silk shoes smaller than a middle finger.

They were baby shoes. I could feel the warmth of how much the man cherished it.

And there was a pretty bandana. It looked luxurious and didn’t seem like a typical sewing ring, but I liked it that way.

‘I found the needle. But really… there’s no real truth. Then…’

He pulled out the man’s hair. Long hair, befitting the martial arts era. Great. He quickly tied the hair through the eye of the needle.

“It may hurt, but you have to endure it.”

There was no answer. The middle-aged man was slowly losing consciousness. It is a sign of death.

‘…Is there no way?’

In the end, I took a bold step.

Deep.

The needle penetrates the flesh. The middle-aged man let out a groan in his faint consciousness.

However, Jin Cheonhee moved her hands with a calm face.

‘I heard that in an emergency, I could suture with hair, but I never thought I would do it myself. Since there are no conditions for disinfection, an infection may occur. I can’t help it. ‘I have no choice but to do it now.’

The wound was sutured in an instant. When the bleeding stopped, the man gasped. In Jin Cheon-hee’s opinion, it seemed like first aid was done at this level.

Actually, even though I wanted to do more, I wasn’t in the condition to do it.

I wanted to find a clean cloth, but there didn’t seem to be any around. So I took a piece of cloth that was rolling around and tied up the wound.

The man muttered something. The words were spoken in a clouded state of consciousness, so I couldn’t hear them clearly, but they seemed to be saying thank you.

Jin Cheon-hee handed the bag of coins into his hand.

‘I hope you hand it to me alive.’

He didn’t believe in heaven. No matter how much you pray, a dying patient will die.

But I believed in human will. Jin Cheon-hee comforted him because he was not unaware of the feelings of the head of the family who left his pregnant wife at home.

After finishing the treatment, Jin Cheon-hee sighed and sat down.

I couldn’t believe what was going on right now, and I was exhausted after saving someone’s life in this situation.

Then suddenly a thought occurred to me.

‘There may be more people alive.’

I suddenly got up from my seat. And when I looked closely at the surroundings, there were indeed a few people who were still breathing.

It wasn’t that many, but a few were still alive.

‘We can provide first aid, but can we save someone’s life? Even if I try my hand now, if I don’t get someone’s help, I’ll end up…’

He thought about that and then gritted his teeth.

‘Think about it later. ‘I have to save it right now.’

The child’s body moved diligently.

We had to distinguish between those who could be saved immediately and those who could not.

‘This person… has already lost too much blood. ‘I can’t save you.’

The first person I saw had half of his leg cut off. The problem was that the artery was cut, causing too much blood loss.

He might be able to survive if he sutures quickly and receives a blood transfusion, but it was impossible in the current situation.

He turned his head with a heavy heart. It seemed like the patient could have been saved if proper medical equipment had been available, but as of now, there was nothing that could be done.

My heart became heavy at that fact. But doctors must be cool-headed.

This was because there were other emergency patients, so there was no delay.
