Renee left the fort with Joanne, and they soon arrived at a hospital in the city.

courting death?” Stefan scoffed. If he hadn’t investigated Renee and Liam’s whereabouts
before he contacted Benjamin the results would have been unimaginable.
Realisation dawned on Renee. After staring at Stefan for a while she said icily “You must
have said the right thing since Benjamin let Joanne and me go without much of a fight.”
