“Looks like Mister Grimston is winning. I guess Miss Morrison’s boyfriend is going to have to give up.”
Once Bucky raised the price to 43 million everyone was impressed by his generosity and all turned to
look at Leon sympathetically.
Through the mocking comments Bucky and Aurelia threw at Leon they all gathered some information.
Leon seemed to be Renee’s boyfriend but was of low status and merely a vice president.
Given his humble background whether he could pay 30 million was already an issue let alone 43
million.
The high-quality jadeite was worth 43 million at most. Judging from Leon’s financial capability and the
jadeite’s worth it was unlikely that Leon would get any higher as he could not afford it.
Hence they all thought that Leon would give up.
Just then Leon said coldly “I’ll pay 50 million then.”
“What?” Leon’s words left Bucky and the others stunned.
“Has this kid gone mad?”
“This green jadeite should only be worth 43 million dollars and he is offering 50 million?”
“Is he really that rich or is he just bidding randomly?”
The others snapped out of it and exchanged confused looks.
Misled by Bucky and Aurelia they all assumed that Leon was just a lowly vice president and they did
not believe he was capable of paying 43 million.
Hence when Leon offered 50 million for the jadeite they all assumed that Leon was just recklessly
trying to undermine Bucky.
This seemed to be the only possible explanation.
“Kid are you doing this on purpose?” Bucky’s expression darkened.
He thought that Leon would give up once the price was raised to 43 million. To his bewilderment Leon
did not give up and even raised the price to 54 million.
This caught him by surprise and he could not figure out if Leon truly had that much money or if he was
simply trying to bluff.
“Why do you care? I’ll repeat myself. If you can’t offer a higher price get lost and save yourself the
embarrassment.” Leon did not mince his words.
Bucky and Aurelia both took the jadeite from earlier and bid against him for the high-quality green
jadeite on purpose.
Their provocation enraged Leon and he decided it was time to fight back.
