“Madam this is first come first serve. This gentleman here has already decided to purchase this jadeite
and I can’t sell it to you. Please understand!” The saleswoman forced a smile and maintained a polite
attitude hoping that Aurelia would settle down.
“So what? He hasn’t paid has he? So long as he hasn’t paid I have the right to buy it!” Aurelia scoffed
and remained arrogant.
“But-” The saleswoman was rendered speechless.
Though Aurelia was playing with words she was right that Leon was yet to pay and the saleswoman
could not argue with this logic.
“Miss Underwood what’s the meaning of this? You know that Hugh set his eyes on this and you are
causing trouble on purpose! Don’t you think you are out of line here?” Renee questioned angrily.
She knew that Aurelia was only fighting over the jadeite to undermine her.
Facing such provocation she could not maintain her politeness.
Naturally Leon was equally offended.
He did not know Aurelia and they had no previous conflict yet she continued to belittle him for not
deserving Renee and rudely compete for the jadeite he wanted.
This was out of line and even for someone as good-tempered as Leon he was inevitably provoked.
Still he did not intend to fight with a woman. As a gentleman he suppressed his anger and did not
snap.
“Miss Morrison I’m afraid I don’t agree with you. Bucky and I came here to purchase jadeites. Isn’t it
normal that I want to buy something that I’m
interested in? You can’t just stop me from buying it just because you and your boyfriend set your eyes
on it!” Aurelia retorted.
“Why you!” Renee was furious.
However the Underwoods were one of the most powerful families in the western region and Aurelia’s
status rivaled hers.
Since Aurelia was determined to take the jadeite from Leon there was nothing she could do.
“What do you want then? There’s only one piece and we are both interested in it. It’s not like this can
be sold to US all!” Leon laughed angrily at Aurelia’s insensible behavior.
“How about this? Let’s bid against each other and whoever bids the highest price gets it!” Aurelia said
and glanced at Leon in contempt.
She just learned from Renee that Leon was just a lowly vice president.
Leon could not possibly compare to her or Bucky in terms of wealth and status.
If they bid against one another Leon would not stand a chance.
That way she could defeat Leon and Renee and get them to admit their shortcomings thus killing two
birds with one stone.
