“I’ve given you this chance to say your last words. It’s not for you to weasel yourself out of your crime!” Arthur snarled a glimmer of malice flashing through his eyes.
“I’m not trying to weasel my way out! This is the truth!” Leon replied calmly.
“Very well then! I’ve given you a chance. It’s not my fault if you chose to waste it! I shall make you pay for what you did to Yonas! You’re going to regret this!” Arthur cackled. Then without another word he sent a surge of powerful energy barreling Leon’s way.
“Damn it!” the color had drained from Leon’s face. He knew full well that Arthur was much more powerful than him and he would be no match for Arthur at all!
Without a moment’s hesitation Leon unleashed his Phantom Steps darting away from Arthur’s attack at the last moment and leaving behind only a bare silhouette of his being.
“Trying to run? Not so fast! Take this!” Arthur scoffed then switched his tactic and sent another surge of energy that writhed into a tornado and spun straight toward Leon!
“Oh no…” Leon’s expression froze on his face. He engaged his Phantom Steps once more intending to dodge Arthur’s attack again. Unfortunately because he did not take the Dragon Pill he was only at the Intermediate Emperor State at this time which was a far cry from Arthur’s Advanced Almighty State!
The only reason he had managed to get away the first time was sheer luck. Now that Arthur had unleashed a faster and far more powerful second attack Leon could no longer outrun it. Even with the Phantom Steps he could not dodge Arthur’s attack in time and got caught in the tornado which resulted in him being flung across the room like a sack of potatoes!
Leon landed on the ground in a crumpled heap. A surge of excruciating pain shot through his chest causing him to bend over and spat out a mouthful of blood!
Thankfully he had the Mirror of Sovereign as his shield. With his timely dodge he avoided the brunt of Arthur’s attack. Apart from some internal injuries he was otherwise fine!
“Leon a-are you okay?” Iris and Snow were both horrified by the sight. They quickly sprinted forward to help Leon up and checked him for injuries.
They were relieved after confirming that Leon was indeed alright.
“Don’t take this too far Elder Thompson!” Leon cast Arthur a look of seething rage as he got onto his feet trying to stifle the pain. Leon knew full well that Yonas’ death had nothing to do with him at all!
Even after the Thompsons misunderstood him so greatly he still chose to forgive them and even attempted to explain everything to them in a civil manner all because he held their friendship close to his heart.
However not only did Arthur and August refuse to believe him but Arthur even attacked first and tried to kill him!
That infuriated Leon greatly!
“Leon Wolf you killed Yonas and you have the audacity to say I’m taking things too far? What a joke!” Arthur snickered when he heard that.
