# 97
Helmut
Episode 97
“Professor Luxen poses a problem and demands that you add at least a little bit of your ‘own idea’ to it. If you just write your answers according to what you learned or according to the textbook, they won’t give you much points. If the professor gives an explanation that is contrary to the textbook and you do not mention it in your answer, you will get points deducted.
“It would be better to refute the professor’s explanation, but since that requires knowledge of the subject, I’ll just not think about it.”
“okay.”
“First, understand this part and this part. This is probably what Professor Luxen emphasized. Do you remember what the class was about?”
Helmut searched for memories. I definitely remember listening to the lecture, but I can’t seem to remember it.
Area gave some explanation, looked at Helmut, and then closed the book.
“I think I lost concentration today. “I’ll do it next time.”
Area sighed and handed over the book. His expression wasn’t good.
Normally, I would have asked questions about what was explained and written answers to the expected problems, but I don’t think I can do that today.
Area’s words were half heard, and half only passed through my eardrums and disappeared.
“Can’t I study because I’m swinging my sword so much?”
It wasn’t a sarcastic comment, it was a serious question.
There was a joke going around that it was impossible for swordsmanship students to learn smoothly because their brains were so muscled.
It’s not that there aren’t times in the swordsmanship department that are skilled in both civil and martial arts, but it’s not common.
At Greta Academy, where only the brightest gather, it is an amazing thing for students in the swordsmanship department to build up knowledge enough to be recognized by other departments.
While the swordsmanship department is training around the playground, other departments are glued to their desks, looking at thick and difficult books until their heads start cramping.
Unlike swordsmanship, magic was a power that could not be used without knowledge.
The study time is different, but the average level cannot be the same.
Area showed an analytical attitude.
“Or is it the location? “I guess you’re the type that can’t study in your room.”
“Maybe so.”
Helmut nodded. I studied well before moving my desk here, so I think this distance is exactly the problem.
The desks are narrow and too close together. Putting our heads together this close. The place where I got tutoring before was still far away.
Area was a magician strong enough to stimulate Helmut’s defensive instincts.
Since this is something that definitely cannot be called an ally, the body naturally becomes tense.
Helmut completely accepted that as a reason. Otherwise this situation is not explained.
“Then I will look into the study room. Just like when I tutored you before. “I think it will be difficult to get it since it’s exam period, but if you can’t, it would be a good idea to go to Kudrow’s mansion during the holidays.”
Since her last visit, Area seemed to like Kudrow Mansion. Helmut agreed.
“I will do that.”

Fortunately, Area was able to save the only remaining study room. It was fortunate that there were many students who patronized the library.
Studying in an atmosphere of fierce competition was effective for learning.
That’s why I purposely go to the library rather than the study room, where I can relax.
The only study room was a 4-person room. It cannot be used by 2 people.
After thinking for a moment, Area added two names next to Helmut’s and herself.
Sian Asuka. After writing it down and submitting it, I later had Helmut seek the consent of the parties involved.
This is because those who rent a study room have restrictions on renting other study rooms.
Both Sian and Asuka did not consider that fact to be a big deal. But a problem arose.
“Why did you come here?”
Area asked with a disapproving expression. The problem is that Sian and Asuka announced that they would study in the study room where only Area and Helmut should be.
Xian was slowly calming down and studying for the exam, and Asuka was motivated.
It really seemed like he was determined to get better grades than Helmut.
“They put our name on it, so why can’t we be here?”
It was a fair protest. Xian responded to Asuka’s words with a shrug.
“The atmosphere in the library is too scary. “I dropped my pen and got a lot of glares.”
“that’s right. I can’t study well in the dormitory, so don’t be petty and share it with me. “I didn’t even think of a study room or anything like that.”
“It’s not possible because I can’t rent a study room on my own during exam period.”
It was a remark that pointed out that Asuka had been alone until last year, unable to find someone to share a study room with.
Asuka’s eyebrows perked up.
“You seem to be forgetting why I was alone?”
The crazy dog of the swordsmanship department. Asuka was willing to bite her opponent at any time.
“haha! I have to study. Okay, study. “Oh, I’m dying because there’s so much scope for the test.”
Xian sneered and hurriedly opened the textbook. His specialty was to touch it when it was touched and to pull it out when it was time to remove it.
Area did not give up and made excuses.
“It will be noisy because me and Helmut have to talk. “It would be better to just go to the library.”
“They say a little noise helps study.”
“There’s no problem, so feel free to make a fuss or not.”
Asuka blurted out and narrowed her eyes.
“Anyway, what kind of tutoring is this? Isn’t that too petty? Get tutoring for some midterm exam. Helmut, do you have a lot of money?”
Although he was a commoner, Helmut had a wealthy benefactor named Ethan Kudrow. There will be no shortage of money.
However, it was strange because it seemed unlikely that Ethan, the academy instructor, would have allowed private education.
“It’s not something you pay for.”
After that incident in the dorm room, I felt strangely reluctant to be alone with Area.
For Helmut, it would have been better for Asuka and Xian to be in the same room. With two distracted people, the atmosphere became much more comfortable.
‘These guys are useful too.’
Helmut recalled the adage that each person has his own usefulness wherever he goes.
“then? “There’s no way that picky guy would volunteer, right?”
“What did you ask for? “Human testing?”
“If you’re going to study, shut up and read the book.”
When the two people showed curiosity, Area got annoyed.
Eventually, tutoring began again. Because I regained my concentration in the now crowded space, the progress went quite easily this time.
Asuka and Sian pretended to be studying, as if they were surprised that Area talked a lot, and then looked at Helmut and him alternately.
It’s almost like being tutored by the head of the magic department. It was a rare sight.
“If you take the same class, you get tutoring as well.”
“The exams in that class are all subjective essays?”
Asuka raised her eyebrows at Xian’s words.
“What are you crazy? “What’s wrong with liberal arts classes?”
“I heard it’s a class that undergraduate swordsmanship students avoid. Didn’t you take it?”
“If you keep scratching, you’ll die.”
Asuka’s voice lowered. It’s starting to get dangerous.
This time, Sian looked away again and buried his nose in the book.
Area continued the tutoring at her own pace, regardless of whether the two people next to her were chatting or not.
After some time had passed and she thought she had fully understood the lecture, Area opened the paper.
“Then shall we take a test?”
‘It’s a descriptive question.’
It’s a new experience. Helmut looked seriously at the blank paper with only the problem written on it.
That day, he solved an essay problem for the first time in his life. I don’t know if I wrote it correctly, but once I filled in the blank paper with black, I felt satisfied.
Helmut confidently handed the answer to Area.
“it’s okay.”
Area, who read the answer Helmut gave her, was momentarily speechless.
Xian tilted his head from the side, glanced at the answer sheet, and made a serious expression.
“This is a bit weird.”
“It’s not that bad…”
Area placed her hand on her forehead. My brain is pounding. I don’t know where to start and how to start.
Helmut’s answer was very simple. First of all, the vocabulary was like that. The readability was very good, but the writing skills were almost child-like, and the content was amazing.
What Area posed was the question, ‘Describe the difference between a warlock and an ordinary wizard and the harm that a warlock causes.’ And Helmut’s answer was roughly like this.
‘Unlike regular wizards, warlocks are evil beings. I know because I met him. A warlock dominates and oppresses humans who are weaker than him.
The warlock I met tried to seduce me with subtle words and make me his subordinate. When I did not respond and left, they tried to kill me in a mean way.’
Helmut Thane wrote about the Forest of Pahe, omitting many parts for fear of being noticed.
I wrote my answer with confidence that I had met a warlock.
But looking at Area’s expression, something seems wrong.
“Helmut, ‘I know this because I met him’. What on earth is this?”
“They told me to write down my thoughts.”
“You wrote your thoughts based on general theories, but who said you should write about your personal experiences?”
“Isn’t it true that thoughts come from experience?”
Area was speechless and stared at Helmut’s answer sheet.
‘Will it be possible to reach the middle rank, let alone the top rank?’
If Professor Luxen credits him with a little tolerance for swordsmanship and Helmut’s sense of humor, it might be possible.
But as of now, there was no answer.
“I’m starting to worry about how to solve this tutoring problem.”
“But have you really met a warlock?”
Asuka quickly intervened. There was a liveliness in his eyes as he almost hit his nose on the desk while studying the exam scope.
“I’ve met you.”
“You said you lived in the forest. How did we meet? “Did the warlock also hide in the forest?”
“yes.”
Helmut gave a vague answer. Asuka asked keenly.
“What does it mean to dominate and oppress someone who lives hidden in the forest? “What kind of person did you kidnap and use as a slave?”
“It’s similar.”
As the two continued their conversation, Area was struggling with her chin. Xian said after reading Helmut’s answer with interest.
“I know one thing for sure. You’ve never solved an essay question before. “The swordsmanship undergraduate transfer exam was also multiple choice, right?”
Area frowned.
“I didn’t know it would be this bad.”
“So why did you take that class? “You should choose something easy like me.”
Asuka, who had chosen a liberal arts class where she only had to solve multiple-choice questions, spoke triumphantly.
Of course, there were students from other departments in the class he was taking, but since it was a multiple-choice test, all he had to do was study hard and get as many questions right as possible.
It was a test that looked at how faithfully one studied for the test rather than the depth of knowledge.
“Helmut was a transfer student, so he had no choice. “This is a little unfair.”
“But since transfer students do not have grades from the previous semester, it is difficult to establish evaluation criteria.”
“That’s right.”
“Anyway, the conclusion has been reached.”
Asuka smiled in remorse.
“Helmut, just give up. Anyway, you’re confident in your swordsmanship skills, right? “Your grades will be good, but do you need to be more greedy?”
“And you mean you will be the top student in the second year of the swordsmanship department?”
“That’s it. In fact, if I hadn’t been suspended from class last year, I would have been the top student in the swordsmanship department.”
Asuka swaggered. Come to think of it, all three of us here except Helmut are honor students.
Asuka was far from a model student, but her grades were good, so she was included in that category anyway.
It is an elite gathering of only senior vice presidents. They were a group that stood out because each person had a distinct personality.
“Let’s put this aside and spar with me later. “You’ve never done it with me before.”
You will take first place anyway, so even if you lose in sparring, you won’t feel too bad.
But Area cut like a sword.
“Don’t be ridiculous.”
His eyes became sharp, as if asking when was the last time he sighed.
“I can’t let my tutor lose to someone like you.”
Both a sense of duty and pride burned brightly in Area.
