Chapter 127 – Ultimate (1)

[If you turn Level 6 on the battlefield you can learn your ultimate ability.]

Starting from Level 6 a champion could learn their ultimate skill. It was the strongest ability the champion could use. If a champion were to reach Level 6 before everyone else it was the best timing to use the ultimate.

[You’re the only summoner who reached Level 6. You could probably fight anyone and win. As expected of my summoner.]

— Is Raina okay?

— Is her dialogue bugged?

— Why’s she so different?

— Did Raina change bodies with somebody else?

— Noona! You weren’t nice to me! What happened?! I even bought all the skins you told me to buy!

— Raina must’ve been hit by a truck or something. This isn’t the Raina I know.

— Apparently Raina has facial recognition. Please shut down the server.

— It’s because he’s so good at shooting~

— I’m so upset… Raina…

Raina was acting beyond friendly. She was almost flirting with him. Raina’s fanboys were jealous watching it unfold. She had a loyal fanbase because of her cold personality and beautiful looks.

Ironically these fans refused to use Raina in a ranked match.

“Everyone calm down. She likes what she likes.”

Almond calmed his fans down. He had other problems. LIL was a team game which meant even if he was doing well the game’s outcome was unpredictable.

[Smebu! Double kill!]

[Enemy is on a killing spree!]

Almond’s top liner died. It was the player who cursed him in the waiting lobby. His jungler friend died alongside him. To top it off the mid-liner died as well.

[Smebu! Triple kill!]

[The enemy is on a rampage!]

A triple kill? The game was in jeopardy.

If it were just the top and jungle it’d be fine. With the mid champion dead as well their turret was in danger.

‘I know that the mid turret is really important…’

The only one left to defend it was Almond and his support.

[Let’s go mid. If the mid gets taken it’ll get dangerous. We have to stop it.]

Raina advised Almond about the same thing as well.

Almond nodded and told the support “Let’s go mid.”

“Alright.”

The enemy bottom lane was grateful.

“Wow shit…! That guy must’ve gone mid.”

The ADC Paul was visibly glad to return to his lane. It was humorous to watch the blonde gangster look so relieved. The sorcerer beside him didn’t say much except relate with his ADC.

“Phew! Thank goodness. These top jungle and mid-laners… get a taste of their Raina!”

“But they’re going to blame us for snowballing them…”

“… Fuck.”

The two scratched their heads with dumb looks on their faces. They needed to focus on killing the minions to catch up.

“Do you think… we’re going to lose this game?”

“Never! Don’t you know our top liner Valkyrie? It’s the most OP champion right now and they just got a triple kill. How could we lose?”

“Ah Valkyrie is pretty OP right now.”

“Not just OP she’s the daughter of the developers or something. I swear! She’s way more OP than my toad… If it was ranked she’d be banned for sure.”

***

Raina’s ultimate was powerful but it wasn’t easy to activate. The summoner needed to have a hundred “Pride of an Archer” stacks to have her descend. It only started to stack by one after four consecutive hits and by ten if it was against other champions.

Theoretically if the champion got fourteen stacks in a row against a champion it was possible to activate it immediately.

‘It’d be nice if I had the stacks ahead of time.’

Almond arrived early in the mid. He should’ve already had almost a hundred stacks from killing the bottom duo twice.

[You can’t use the ultimate yet. You need to fully stack the Pride of an Archer.]

Currently he was at zero. For some odd reason the stacks only started to count after he leveled up his ultimate skill. This was one of the small reasons Raina was rated so poorly. It wasn’t because she didn’t have potential but because activating her skills was tricky.

LIL was crazy to introduce this champion to beginners in the tutorial. Another crazy thing was the enemy mid-laner Almond was facing.

[TwoMidGo]

[Electric Wizard – Kaizad]

[Lv.5]

He spoke with a smile “Did he come to defend mid? Not on my watch!”

The wizard kept aggravating Almond while last hitting the minions thinking he was out of range from Raina.

“You’re going to stop me as Raina?”

Almond could hear his taunts and stood still because he wasn’t in range yet.

“Try defending it.”

The enemy gathered blue energy and taunted Almond.

Bzzzt!

The enemy was playing as the Electric Wizard Kaizad. Kaizad kept glancing at the right bushes. Was there somebody hiding there?

“Mr. Soldier” the support noticed something strange and advised Almond. “Mr. Soldier don’t go. The jungler is…”

They didn’t know where the enemy jungler was. If the jungler hid in that bush the low HP ADC would die instantly. In this case there wasn’t anything the support could do. All they could do was give information to the ADC.

“… Huh?”

But the supporter’s advice didn’t reach Almond.

Tak-

Almond already rolled in front.

[Spurite registered a mission!]

[Wow! If you kill that annoying guy 50000 won!]

Because of this mission…

— Capitalism roll!

— LOL

— Zero hesitation

— What? Mission? Roll.

— This streamer rolls for 50000 won!

“M-Mister?”

The support unaware of the situation panicked.

The enemy laughed at Almond.

‘He fell for it!’

The wizard pressed down on the center of his hand with his thumb activating a Link Movement.

[Shock Explosion]

Blue electricity came out from the center of his palm.

Bzzt!

The blue electricity wrapped around his body and flowed on the ground like a river.

Bzzzt…

If the electricity struck a champion they not only lost damage but also became momentarily stunned. If that happened the jungler would come and finish the champion off.

“…?”

But the electricity didn’t reach the champion.

‘She rolled over here?’

Instead an arrow came flying and the target on the center of his forehead exploded.

Pung!

He felt his skull shaking.

— Wow! Rolling forward and backward.

— What a feint.

— Kaizad is useless without any skills.

— Kya!

The wizard panicked.

The enemy rolled toward him then backward while shooting her arrow. The rolling skill didn’t activate the buff twice but he rolled to bait out the skill. It was instantaneous speed and decision-making while shooting precisely at the target. All three occurred perfectly in sync.

‘Her mechanics are?’

The wizard recalled the bottom duo’s warning. ‘That guy is a monster! We need to stop him first!’

‘Is he really that good?’

Swoosh!

Another arrow followed.

Kang…!

A dark shadow appeared deflecting the arrows.

“What the! Why can’t you hit it?!” the hammer warrior screamed with his back turned.

As expected the wizard wasn’t alone.

— Ah see. There’s the jungler.

— An obvious bait.

— Shame.

“Ah…”

The Electric Wizard Kaizad came back to his senses.

“S-Sorry.”

They could win as long as he paid attention and landed his skills. If he worked together with the jungler he would win.

Wasn’t it obvious? Mid and jungle were the strongest laners especially in the early game out of the mid jungle ADC and support roles.

Kaizad cast a different spell hiding behind the hammer warrior.

[Shockwave]

Bzzzzt!

A blue spark suddenly fired in a straight line. This time it was meant to hit and slow an enemy from a distance.

“!?”

Ta-dak.

Raina rolled and dodged it easily. She pulled on her bow as if she was waiting.

Creak…

She was at an angle where the hammer warrior couldn’t block it. They couldn’t keep up with her movements.

A blue arrow flew and hit the wizard’s vital point. The blue target exploded.

Pung!

And another one in the shoulder.

Pung!

That was the third hit which activated Raina’s mana explosion passive.

Kwaang!

He lost 40% of his HP.

‘T-This is impossible.’

She would be tier one if a player could roll around and accurately hit targets with her arrows. Everybody would want to play her.

“Move! I’ll kill her!”

The jungler jumped into the sky with his giant hammer. A large shadow formed on top of Raina. The hammer crashed down destroying the environment around them.

Crumble!!!

The ground trembled like a river. There was dust everywhere making it difficult to see. As the dust cleared up…

“!?”

There was no sign of the enemy.

‘Where…’

Creak…

Behind him he could hear an arrow being pulled. Raina was an arm’s reach away. The hammer warrior was dumbfounded. Who would think of drawing their bow at a melee distance against a warrior champion?

He swung his hammer to punish her.

Swoosh!

She would’ve turned into a pancake if he hit her but the hammer hit nothing. Instead he felt a weight on his shoulder. Almond had climbed on top of the hammer with his bow fully drawn. The warrior looked up as Almond quietly released his arrow.

Pung!

The blue arrow perfectly landed on the target on his forehead. The hammer warrior lost his balance and dropped his hammer.

“W-What the.”

A warrior without a weapon was weak. He turned around and ran away because the weapon would eventually return to him if he created enough distance from it. However it was a mistake to show his back to Raina.

Pububung!

The three targets in his back exploded.

Boom!

Another mana explosion activated.

The warrior almost lost his balance but continued to flee. As long as he could run far enough for the hammer to return to him he had a chance because he had a skill where he could deflect projectiles.

However Almond’s arrow was merciless. Arrows continued to fly and ripped through all the targets.

[Your HP is below 30%!]

Despite being a tanker the hammer warrior’s HP was cut by 70%. However he continued to run.

‘We’re fucked.’

He couldn’t deny it. He was no match for her. At that moment he realized that the gank failed.

Just then…

Bzzzt!

Kaizad fired his magic once more.

‘Right I wasn’t alone.’ He saw hope but it instantly disappeared.

“Mr. Soldier!”

The enemy wasn’t alone either. The support put up a shield in front of Almond.

Tung–

The electricity couldn’t go through the shield. As a result Almond could focus on his shooting. He rapidly fired three more shots. Instead of the hammer warrior they were aimed at Kaizad.

“!?”

Kaizad expected Raina to aim at the hammer warrior who was close to death and couldn’t react in time.

‘Right… I’m low on HP too…’

All three shots perfectly landed and activated the mana explosion.

Kwang!

Kaizad disintegrated in a blue fire as if he never existed.

[Mission success!]

[Spurite has donated 50000 won!]

— Wow killed him already!

— The mission is like a death note. Done in three minutes.

— Kya!!

— The mission was barely up…

— You can turn into Light Yagami if you donate!

[Lazy Soldier is unstoppable!]

After killing the mid-laner his focus was now on the jungler.

Swoosh…!

Countless numbers of Raina’s targets appeared on the jungler’s body. For him it was like facing the grim reaper. He now had his hammer in hand but…

‘Dammit.’

He had to admit that there was no hope.

‘He’s way better.’

Countless blue lights covered his vision. The increased damage from the combo hits and consecutive mana explosions quickly reduced his HP…

[LazySoldier is legendary!]

Thud.

Eventually he fell.

‘Lazy Soldier… I’ll remember you.’

He whispered his last breath without knowing that the nickname was for an advertisement.
