36. Scream from the ground (3)
#36
The blood that flowed along the fingers fell on the sword body. Instead of dripping or dripping the blood droplets just soaked into the sword body. Ronan’s eyes widened.
“You old rice ball…what on earth did you make?”
It was a sword that was far from common sense in many ways. The surface of the sword body that had absorbed the blood was shiny with red energy. The scenery of the blacksmith shop was visible behind the translucent blade.
The weight was also surprisingly light. Even if you swing the same area of rice straw it doesn’t seem like it would be any lighter. Ronan frowned at her after spinning his sword a few times in the air.
“Damn doesn’t it break as soon as it touches somewhere?”
Ronan felt anxious and took one more long sword and one more dagger. This was in case the new knife failed.
As I left the blacksmith shop I saw Sita and Asher busily moving around.
Every time the wreckage rose into the air people who had been buried were appearing. Those who had already been rescued were lying on the floor in a row and receiving Sita’s healing magic.
It seemed that the reinforcements that Marya had called for had not arrived yet. Ronan began to run following the giants’ footsteps.
****
‘Shit. Shit. Shit. Shit….’
Didican took a cautious step. Fortunately there were no loud footsteps. He was even resentful of the fact that he was a living creature that needed breathing to survive.
“Keuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuil long」
In the middle of a wide cave. Three cave giants were spread out around Didican. Every time the ugly rocks exhaled a terrible sulfur smell came out.
I felt like I would faint if I let my guard down for even a moment. The werewolf’s sensitive sense of smell and the heat gathering inside the full body armor drove him into confusion.
Still Didi Khan couldn’t take off his armor. The moment the invisibility magic on his armor was lifted the cave giants would tear him to pieces. Tears welled up in Didican’s eyes.
‘How did this happen…!’
All the problems started in a newly dug tunnel. Suddenly the bedrock collapsed and a wide cavity appeared.
And unfortunately it was home to cave giants. The giants whose territory was invaded reached Gran Cappadocia chasing after the workers.
The cave giants reduced Gran Cappadocia to ruins in just a few hours. They threw rocks the size of houses destroying buildings and scooping up lava by hand and pouring it onto the streets.
It was unprecedented and it happened so quickly that I couldn’t react. The giants who destroyed the village took several workers and artisans with them as lunch boxes.
Old Man Doron was also one of them. Didi Khan remembered the sight of Doron being held up by the artist saying he had to protect his works.
‘It seems like a foolish inspiration. Did he think he was a warrior?
Didican quietly avoided the giants and entered deep into the cave. Finally the cavity where the giants used to nest was revealed.
Didican swallowed. A dozen cave giants were sleeping or walking around. At that moment the werewolf’s sensitive hearing sensed something about him.
“I don’t want to die…I don’t want to die…Damn it Master Doron. We’ll die right? “Isn’t that true?”
“That is very likely. Still shouldn’t we give up hope until the end?”
Doron’s voice was mixed in the conversation. Didican hurried his steps.
Before long the sight of people sitting together in a huddle came into view. Doron was sitting next to a young man who looked extremely anxious.
“Aren’t you scared father-in-law? “I’m going to die… I’m going to be eaten by those giants…!”
“I’m fine. It was a life without regrets. However I still regret not being able to give the sword to that child.”
Doron muttered bitterly. He was satisfied with the fact that he had completed the last work of his life in such a masterpiece and at the same time he regretted not being able to deliver it to his master. I’m glad I abandoned my body to protect the blacksmith shop.
The young man who had been chewing his fingernails got up from his seat.
“shit! I can’t die here! “I don’t want to become food for those monsters!”
“Wait a minute!”
Doron tried to stop him but in vain. The young man started running toward the exit. Naturally the sound of footsteps attracted attention and the nearest giant ran after him.
thud. thud. thud. thud. The giant caught up with the young man in just four steps and snatched him up.
“Ugh! “Help me!!”
The young man held in the giant’s hands screamed. The cave giant put the young man’s head in its mouth.
Didi Khan turned his head. Kwasik! Blood spurted out like an explosion from between lips made of rock.
‘Damn….’
The giant who ate the young man returned to his original position. Didican gritted his teeth.
He had to get Doron out before it was too late. At that moment a chill ran up his spine.
“Kwok?”
“shit.”
Didi Khan slowly turned his head. A cave giant was looking at him blankly. Didi Khan lowered his gaze and realized that his armor’s invisibility had been canceled.
‘Why at this time…!’
The cause seemed to be that the enchantment was still incomplete. I had to quickly achieve my goal. It was the moment when Didican was about to run towards Doron.
“Kwaaaah!”
“Oops!”
A cave giant suddenly appeared behind him and kicked Didican. bang! Didican flew away and was thrown into the wall.
“Whoop whoop…!”
The shock that almost knocked him unconscious felt through his armor. Didican vomited blood and slid down the wall. Only then did Doron’s eyes widen when he discovered Didican.
“Didican? “Why are you here…”
“Cough loud old man. “Just run away…!”
There is no way now. Didi Khan threw away his helmet. As his size nearly doubled gray-brown hair grew all over his body. Didican in human form rushed at the giant who kicked him.
“Go for it!”
“Kwaaeook!”
Didi Khan riding the giant swung his fist. The rock covering the giant’s face shattered with a dull sound. The people who were captured began to run away in panic.
“Huh! Didican?”
“Now! “Run away!”
“Kaaaaaah!”
The cave giants who heard the sound were screaming and running. All their attention was focused on Didican. Didican shouted after seeing Doron still frozen in place.
“Why are you still not going? “I told you to run away!”
The cave giants were already close at hand. Didican cursed and threw himself away. As soon as he wrapped his arms around Doron and rolled on the ground his rocky fists and kicks rained down on him.
“Ugh! Ugh! Hehehe!”
Four giants surrounded Didican and started stomping on him. Shocks reminiscent of a battering ram pounded his body without stopping. Didican was big and strong for a werewolf but there was nothing he could do in this situation.
‘Maybe I should have learned how to fight. ‘I should have listened to my brother.’
My brother’s face appeared in my fading consciousness. Then a giant lifted a huge rock.
“Wow! “Wow!”
It was a megalith larger than a typical chicken coop. That’s it. It was a moment when Didi Khan closed his eyes in resignation. A familiar voice was heard.
“It’s not too late. thank god.”
thud! Suddenly the body of the giant holding the rock fell sideways. The giant blinked his eyes and lowered his gaze to his lower body. Yellow blood was gushing from the cross section of his severed ankle.
“Kwok?”
The foot that had fallen from his body was lying not far away. The giant who belatedly realized the situation was about to scream in pain. The shadow that ran over the giant’s body swung its sword.
Suddenly. A yellow line appeared on the giant’s neck and his head fell to the floor.
“Couuk?”
“Kwoaeook?!”
The giants who were stepping on Didican turned their heads. Didi Khan slowly raised his head and a voice came out of his mouth as if he was wandering in a dream.
“you….”
“hmm. “I guess there’s no need for this.”
Ronan threw away the longsword that was on her right waist. Didican’s eyes widened when he saw the sword in his hand. Ronan gave Didi Khan his thumbs up.
“That’s cool Didican. “I saw a good fight.”
“Ro…I? W How do we get here…what about the other giants?”
“ah. “The ones on the way?”
Ronan was about to say something. One of the giants came to her senses and threw her fist at Ronan.
“Kwaaeook!”
Ronan stepped on the giant’s fist and jumped upward. Ronan rose to a height where he could make eye contact with the giant and swung his sword vertically.
Suddenly! The thin blade cut the giant’s face in two and at the same time his huge body collapsed forward. The moment his head hit the ground the brain fluid that sprang up wet Didi Khan’s face. Ronan said calmly.
“I killed them all.”
“what?”
Now that I think about it I can’t see any of the giants wandering around the cave. Ronan rushed towards the remaining giants. Each time the translucent blade danced in the air the limbs of the giants were cut off in one fell swoop.
“Keuuk! “Wow!”
“Currrrrrrr!”
Sporadic screams came from the giants’ mouths. The strange knife sliced the giant’s skin which was made of ore like tofu.
“oh my god….”
Didi Khan watched Ronan’s slaughter forgetting his pain. Doron’s sword was also a sword but his sword skills were incomparably more mature than last time.
Imperial swordsman Nabiroje Ryu and even the strong swordsmanship stolen from Marya. Swordsmanship appropriate to each situation was continuously displayed.
Suddenly Didican trembled. If Ronan had wanted to he could have died during their first meeting. thud! Within a few minutes the last giant fell.
“Wow… 100 million….”
“You fucking rocks.”
Ronan swung his sword in the air. It was a habitual movement to shake off blood but the strange black blood did not spit out.
“Oh oh oh…! “You finally found it…!”
At that time Doron crawled out from under Didican’s chest where he was crouching. Ronan seeing that he had no wounds stroked his hair.
“You’re alive old man. “I’m glad I didn’t see you as shit.”
“okay. Thanks to my apprentice.”
There was not a single wound on his small body. Didican who was laughing collapsed as if collapsing. Doron spoke as he stroked his battered assistant’s armor.
“Thank you Didican. really.”
“If you understand… please promote me to an official blacksmith…”
Didican fainted without saying those words. Doron chuckled and turned his head to Ronan.
“He’s such a hot-tempered guy. “This guy is going to take my place anyway.”
“That’s because we are a species that cannot live for hundreds of years like you.”
“Is that so? “Hehehe.”
Doron stroked his beard and laughed. He said looking at the sword in Ronan’s hand.
“So did you like La Mancha?”
“La Mancha?”
“okay. This is the name of that sword. It’s named after a dreamer I love. “The name of the mad knight who wanted to reach the stars.”
“I wanted to reach the stars…it’s really good.”
Ronan nodded his head. Doron hissed and continued speaking.
“Isn’t it really amazing? You have no idea how much effort I went through to melt and alloy that eggshell. “Urusa made by mixing ten types of ores was less complicated than that.”
“Thank you for your hard work.”
“It is truly a weapon for you. Its hardness is greater than that of mithril and it is light enough to give you goosebumps. But the most surprising thing is that feeding blood restores damaged blades and increases energy. “Oh my god I didn’t even do a separate enchantment!”
Doron himself said that he did not know why La Mancha drinks blood. However Ronan could only guess that this ability came from Sita’s ability to handle blood.
Doron who had been talking about La Mancha for a while opened his eyes wide as if something had occurred to him.
“What happened to the people who were captured?”
“Everyone escaped safely. “You can rest assured that we killed all the giants on the way.”
“Yes I see…you did a great job.”
Doron breathed a sigh of relief. He closed his eyes for a moment and meditated remembering the young man who had sadly died.
Eventually Doron opened his eyes and slowly looked around him. The corpses of cave giants lying around came into view. There seemed to be dozens of them. Doron who suddenly felt uncomfortable tilted his head.
“But…something is strange.”
“What is it?”
“This is the current situation. Do you know about the ecology of cave giants?”
“…To what extent?”
Ronan nodded. In his previous life he had been deployed as a punitive soldier in an operation to subdue cave giants. Doron touched his beard meaningfully.
“Then the conversation will be quick. “What do you think is the reason these guys gathered together like this?”
“Huh? “Isn’t this a monster that usually lives in groups?”
“We don’t form groups. But at most there are three or four of them. “I’ve never heard of so many cave giants gathering together.”
“Now that I think about it…”
Ronan’s eyes widened. What he heard was true.
The subjugation operation at the time took place in a mine in the west. Even though the mine was as deep and huge as Gran Cappadocia only four giants appeared. Ronan remembered what his commander had said at the time:
-This is my first time seeing four of them running together. Everyone relax.
“Hmmmm….”
Doron’s expression was serious. Ronan who was smoothing his chin opened his mouth.
“What happened between you guys?”
“Well that’s fine. I also find it disturbing that these guys… were overly belligerent. perhaps…”
“Kwoaaaaaak!”
It was the car where Doron was trying to continue his conversation. A familiar roar echoed from the other side of the cavity.
With a thumping sound new cave giants appeared. Doron took a breath and took a step back.
“What is this…is there more?”
“Anyway you guys are terrible at interrupting conversations. “It looks like there is something like you said.”
At first glance there seemed to be more than twenty. The giants’ eyes were blazing in the darkness.
Ronan looked at La Mancha’s sword body. Even though so many lives were lost the terrible anticipation did not subside. Ronan adjusted his posture and glared at the giants.
“If you kill something something will come out.”
“Kwaaaaa!!”
The cave giants roared at the same time. Ronan holding La Mancha ran forward.
