281. Savior (7)
#281
“…Abel?”
Cain blurted out without realizing it. The boy in front of me looked so similar to myself that I could believe he was his twin. The boy who was sniffling asked holding on to his collar.
“brother. “I’m cold.”
“What on earth is this…no. Now wait a minute…!”
Cain hurriedly took off his coat and put it on the boy. I don’t know what happened but she couldn’t ignore the child who was thrown out into this cold. she said fluttering the boy’s spare sleeve in her coat.
“The clothes are so big…sigh. And it’s still cold.”
“That’s right. Just be patient. “I’ll warm you up in no time.”
Strangely she did not feel cold even after taking off her coat. Cain held the boy’s hand and settled down in the ruins which still had walls and a roof to act as a windbreak.
He made a bonfire using scrap materials and whale oil. The boy sitting across from Cain with the bonfire in the middle laughed.
“Hehe it’s warm. “Thank you brother.”
“It’s nothing special…but let me ask you one question.”
“huh?”
“…who are you?”
Cain asked. It was too big a problem to ignore. The boy who was breathing with his hands together tilted his head.
“Why are you suddenly asking me that?”
“Just answer me. “Do you…do you know what my name is?”
“It’s really weird today bro. “It’s Cain.”
“…!”
Cain’s eyes widened. He had never told the boy his name yet. It was becoming increasingly unclear what was what.
“Then what is your name?”
“Abel. brother. Are you really okay?”
“How… then what about Mom? “What’s your dad’s name?!”
Cain stood up excitedly. The frightened boy shrugged his shoulders. He answered Cain’s questions with a trembling voice and did not say anything wrong. Cain slowly backed away and muttered to himself.
“This…this is ridiculous.”
“I’m so scared bro… I didn’t do anything wrong.”
“no. Something is wrong with this…!”
His head felt dizzy. The acute pain was gone but a new sensation enveloped my body. It felt like something other than blood was flowing through my veins. Cain who had been washing his face several times kicked out of the ruins and ran out.
“no!”
“brother! Where are you going?!”
The boy shouted but Cain did not answer. The brilliant starlight was still pouring down over his head. He started running towards the hole where he fell.
‘After I fell into that puddle.’
Cain’s thoughts were running hundreds of times faster than usual. He came to the conclusion that all the mysterious things that happened to him happened after he fell into the blood of a giant. Just before he drowned he even thought about going back.
The pit was still gaping at the center of the village. Cain stopped in front of him. Even though he ran for a long time with all his might he was out of breath.
‘I want to go there again.’
After repeating that Cain closed his eyes. It was the same procedure as when he returned to the village. Before long the sound of the wind quieted down. He opened his eyes three seconds later and took a deep breath.
“…oh my god.”
Cain was in the same pool he had fallen into. The giant was still stuck in the ice wall. The blue blood was still steaming and bubbling like hot spring water.
‘What I wanted has come true.’
I felt like I knew something. Cain hoped to return to the village again. This time he did not close his eyes. Then the surrounding landscape was distorted as if broken and a ruined village unfolded before my eyes.
When he imagined the puddle again he returned to where he was originally standing. He wished he had a fishing rod and this time a fishing rod identical to the one he had drawn in his head appeared out of thin air. Cain concluded and clenched his fists.
“With this ability. “Mom and Dad too…!”
He could not believe while he was doing. What I had hoped for was coming true. The boy who claimed to be Abel must have been the embodiment of his wish to see his younger brother.
He didn’t have to hesitate any longer. Cain took a deep breath and pictured the restored village and his parents welcoming him warmly. It was the moment when he opened his closed eyes.
“also…!”
He was standing in the middle of a perfectly fine village. Tears flowed down Cain’s cheeks as he was overcome with emotion. The large pit had disappeared everywhere and cozy streets and buildings were in its place.
“mom! dad!”
She had long since put the strange boy who claimed to be her sister out of her mind. Cain ran home without even thinking about wiping away his tears. His father would make fun of him for being a grown man but that didn’t matter.
From today onwards I will never lie. Every time something unfamiliar like “I love you” or “I like you” comes to mind I will say it right away. bang! When she arrived at the front door Cain opened her door and swung it open. His eyes widened.
“…uh?”
There was no one inside the building. Dad’s harpoon Mom’s rocking chair and even the firewood burning in the fireplace were the same but my parents were nowhere to be seen.
“This can’t be happening…?”
Cain noticed that the surroundings were too quiet and went out of the house. There were no pedestrians or sled dogs or reindeer that added life to the village.
Even though we checked each house none of them were occupied. Suddenly an extremely ominous thought passed through Cain’s mind.
‘Could it be that you can’t save a dead person?’
Her breathing became heavy and she broke into a cold sweat. That couldn’t have been possible. That shouldn’t have happened. The casual remarks about going fishing should not have been the last conversation I had with my family.
‘okay. ‘There’s not enough blood.’
Cain who was breathing heavily snapped his fingers. He immediately used his wish to return to the front of the pool. He knelt down and muttered softly.
“Wait. “I will save you.”
Cain scooped up the giant’s blood with both hands. The liquid lapping inside my palm was shining in a color that did not appear on the ground. As I took a sip a burning pain hit my esophagus.
“Woof…!”
It was different from when I drank it unconsciously. But she couldn’t stop. He who had been drinking blood with his hand put his mouth down and started gulping it down.
As the giant’s blood flowed down his throat his senses became more and more sensitive. He drank until he could drink no more and Cain closed his eyes and prayed.
Please return it.

“…I guess it didn’t work out in the end.”
Ronan said. It was because the savior who was in the middle of talking suddenly closed his mouth. Behind his sunset-like eyes the scene of that day when everything began and ended was being recreated.
The house is empty no matter how many times you pray. The indescribable taste of blue blood. In the end the boy sits screaming at the entrance of the village where no one has been saved and only the buildings are intact. The Savior nodded his head.
“okay. No matter how much I tried it didn’t work. “Raising a dead person is.”
“Damn it. Then what is this guy called Abel? “He was dead but he showed up alive.”
“I don’t know that either. He has lived for untold ages but Abel is the only one who has survived with this ability.”
The Savior twisted his lips. He eventually accepted Abel as her biological brother.
In fact he knew that he was just a suspicious boy who called himself his younger brother but he had no time to judge such things from Cain who had lost everything.
“Since then I have traveled all over the world with Abel. Until I got stabbed in the back on the cliff that day. “Now that I think about it we’ve been together for a really long time.”
“I’m so sick of it. Come to think of it father even if it was because he drank the blood of giants how did that guy named Abel live so long?”
“I don’t know. Abel is not old or sick like me. At some point he suddenly started using the power of a giant. “As if it were an alter ego born from my body.”
The Savior explained that he did not know Abel’s identity. In the past people at the peak of their technological prowess developed biological cloning techniques called ‘cloning’ but they were never able to reproduce the original subject to this extent he said. Ronan shrugged his eyebrows.
“Could it be that he secretly drank the blood of a giant too?”
“no. Abel doesn’t know. No one knows except you and me. “I was young at the time but I knew that this power was dangerous.”
The savior said. He said that everyone including Abel and Elsia did not know about this place. He hid it deep inside the original body but he was able to keep it secret because he hoped that this location would not be discovered.
No matter how many times I heard it it was a deceptive ability. Ronan suddenly felt doubtful and asked a question.
“But if you have such ridiculous abilities why did you go through all that trouble to help people? “Wouldn’t it be okay to just pray for peace without having to create a denomination or something?”
“Even though it seems omnipotent it is not necessarily so. There is a clear limit you cannot kill or save a living thing and if you use it excessively your body becomes sick and you fall into a long sleep. “At least a few decades of sleep.”
The savior smiled bitterly. He told an anecdote about how he once used his abilities to keep a country that should have been destroyed but then fell asleep for nearly a hundred years. He also added that when he woke up the country was destroyed.
“her.”
Ronan laughed. As powerful as it was the side effects were also serious. The savior who got off Ronan’s back spoke.
“And that is the power that Iril inherited from me.”
“yes?”
“The power to achieve what you wish for. It’s the most powerful ability I’ve ever gained from drinking blood. “Even Abel who can copy most of what I do couldn’t copy it with this strength.”
The savior’s voice became serious. Ronan’s eyes widened. Suddenly a memory of the imaginary world I saw when I was doing Haeju in the past flashed through my mind. The Savior had placed far more curses on Iril than on himself.
“There was a reason you put a curse on your sister too.”
“okay. It was to avoid being discovered by Abel but it was also to avoid wasting his lifespan by unknowingly using that desired power. But even if I tried to suppress it by casting twenty curses it still had an effect on those around me little by little.”
The savior hesitated. He asserted that it was thanks to her abilities that Ronan and Iril experienced no trouble while growing up.
Iril who had a kind heart wished for the goodness of people peace and happiness for his younger brother and it came true. Until Ronan collides with Nebula Clazie in earnest and becomes entangled in her fate.
“Then that bastard kidnapped my sister…!”
“okay. You must have noticed my daughter’s strength. “I’m sure she will use it to further her own disgusting goals.”
The savior’s voice lowered. Ronan almost grabbed the hilt of her sword due to the sudden burst of life. She couldn’t find any traces of the past in her stiff eyebrows.
“My foolish brother always disguises her words as evolution and opening new horizons. But to explain the truth briefly…”
The savior tugged at her tail. The identity of ‘Descent of Stars’ which I had heard about countless times while pestering Nebula Clazier was about to be revealed. Finally he spoke.
“The plan is to kill everyone living on this planet and absorb them into the giants. “The soul contained within the body.”
