246. With the dragon (3)

#246

The battle resumed. Orsay hit the ground and leaped towards the enemy lines. His sharp icy spines protrude like his spine cutting across his enemy lines. The soldiers who could not escape screamed.

“Ugh!”

“Huh ice?!”

The ice handed down from the Witch of Winter pierced through the scales of the half-dragon like tofu. In a way it was natural since he had driven Itargand to the brink of death in the first place. The skewered soldiers soared into the air.

“Wow!”

“Hey calm down calm down… ow!”

Larger drakes suffered even greater damage. They either fell because they were pierced through the feet or abdomen or trampled nearby soldiers while trying to avoid the thorns killing them. The flame breath closest to the dragon’s fire could not identify Pia and was being sprayed at random.

“It’s killing me.”

Ronan who was watching the mess was amazed. As expected there was nothing better than a wizard’s wide-area attack to start a melee. The nickname “killing machine” was not an exaggeration.

“Hee hee hee! Sorry sorry! “I’m scared…!”

It was a little funny to see myself crushed in a corner while playing the Concerto of Death. Ronan looked back at Asher and sighed.

“Yumma. “You are the scariest person here.”

“Hyaaaaa! “Here we come again!”

Asher let out a terrifying scream. The three half-dragons that were running towards him flew away with a wave of his hand as if to shake off the opponent. Anyway I was doing my job well so I didn’t have any intention of saying anything.

【You guys – how dare you!】

At that time an angry cry rang out from the middle of the enemy lines. Ronan turned her head and her eyes caught the sight of a woman who was expanding like a water-soaked sponge. Her loose silk clothes were torn revealing bluish scales beneath her seat.

“Fuck.”

She forgot for a moment. The Dragon Woman having released her polymorph was returning to her true form. Her severed left arm was gurgling and regenerating. The energy radiating from her body made my joints tingle. It was a quite powerful blue dragon.

‘It’ll take a while.’

Ronan twisted his lips. To be honest dragons in their original form were usually not difficult opponents. It would have been nice if Orsay could get rid of something like that at once but I couldn’t see him.

“Where did this bastard go again?”

“Wow!”

Ronan tore through his battlefield slicing through his soldiers. His hot blood soaked his face and his severed limbs fell like ripe fruit. My sense of smell had already been paralyzed for a long time.

Ronan’s gaze which had been wandering like that stopped at a certain place. Orsay was fighting at the very back of the enemy lines wielding a spear. Two people dressed in white surrounded him who was having a hard time unlike usual.

“Nebula Clage.”

Ronan’s brow furrowed. When I thought about it they were part of the same group. They both appeared to be branch leaders and both were fighting while wearing the protection of the stars.

‘That’s not a good match.’

Tearing off the star’s protection was something different from being strong. At that moment Orsay caught the opportunity and threw out his spear. Kaaaaang! A loud metallic sound rang out.

【Damn it…!】

But this time too the attack did not work. Orsay gritted his teeth. There wasn’t even a scratch on the curtain that fluttered with bizarre colors.

The old woman beyond the curtain had a leisurely smile on her face. When her eyes met Orsay’s she had a spiteful sneer on her face.

“It’s pointless. “Demon dragon.”

【How dare you!】

Orsay burst out in anger. It was the first time that an attack was blocked.

This shouldn’t have happened when we hadn’t even reached Navardose yet. For a moment he leaned back and grabbed the spear pole with both hands. An even stronger black energy rose up engulfing the polearm.

【Disappear!】

Orsay rushed towards him like a black whirlwind. A powerful attack capable of crushing the head of a decent dragon attacked the two fanatics. Kwaaaaang! Upon impact the ship made a louder noise than before.

【Nonsense….】

However the curtain was still drawn in front of him as if nothing had happened. For the first time confusion appeared on Orsay’s face. He seemed to be having a terrible nightmare.

“Now die.”

“All things will disappear under the name of the stars.”

Conversely believers who noticed the gap went on the attack. The old woman chanted a suspicious spell while the other swung a sword.

Orsay who was shocked remained frozen. The white-forged blade was about to cut into his body. Wow! A red crescent moon flew from a square and passed through the bodies of the two believers.

“uh…?”

“Keuuk.”

Orsay’s eyes widened. The star’s protection which had been unbreakable no matter what he did was crumbling. Clap. The upper bodies separated by the waist fell to the floor. A familiar voice was heard from the direction the sword energy came from.

“be careful. Because attacks don’t work well on these bastards.”

Orsay hastily turned his head. Ronan was standing. Around him there were dozens of corpses of other Nebula Clage believers strewn about.

It had been cut in advance so that Asher and Orsay could run wild. Fortunately there was no bishop or Lycopos so the work could be completed quickly. Orsay who had been dumbfounded opened his mouth.

【…What did you do?】

“later. “It’s too long to explain.”

Instead of answering Ronan turned his back. He didn’t have time to sit down and explain. After confirming once again that Nebula Clage was not there he ran up the stairs.

“Clean it up and come back. “I’ll be there first.”

【Hey wait…】

Orce tried to say something but he was already running up the stairs. At that time a watery scream rang out from that corner.

“Hehehe! “I’ll buy it and save it!”

Asher was curled up in the ice shield and screaming. The woman fully transformed into a dragon was slamming her fists into the barrier.

【Come out and stick out her neck!】

“Hyaaaaaak!”

It was holding up well but I didn’t think it would last long. Although many were killed there were still numerous enemies left.

thud! thud! Each time her massive fist collided with the barrier a spiderweb-like crack grew. As Orsay watched the scene a feeling of extreme anger and contempt suddenly welled up in his mind.

Am I being ignored now? And to both the enemy and a brat named Ronan?

【…I will kill you.】

Orsay growled lowly. It was a declaration with an ambiguous meaning. As he grasped his spear a pair of horns curved towards the sky grew above his head.

Quang! The shadow of Orsay leapt as if in flight and fell over the heads of the enemies.

****

“Uhm….”

Schlieffen who was groaning opened his eyes. I couldn’t remember what happened before. Only the enemies that kept coming and the sound of the strong wind being destroyed were the only things that remained in my memories.

‘…Did he survive?’

It hurt like there were bruises all over my body. He slowly looked around. It was a large room covered in treasures but compared to the Dragon King’s throne room the space was much narrower. Schlieffen who was trying to move his body narrowed his eyes.

“what…?”

The entire body including the limbs did not move. Only then did Schlieffen realize that he was chained to a huge iron chair unable to move.

No matter how hard he tried the tightly packed restraints did not budge. At that time a man’s voice was heard from behind.

【Are you awake already? He really is a great guy.】

It was a familiar voice. The footsteps were getting closer. Schlieffen could not turn his head so he had to wait until he appeared in front of him. Before long a gentleman dressed in a suit appeared.

“you….”

【Do you remember? Radavanskada.】

A gentleman named Radavanska introduced himself with his back turned. Schlieffen knew him. He was one of the dragons on the floor that made Ronan and Asher escape.

【Before you do something dirty let me praise your abilities. I have never seen a swordsman as great as you in my life. Regardless of all races.】

Radavanska recited Schlieffen’s accomplishments one after another. Regardless of the type the number of enemies he cut down was at least three figures.

Schlieffen did not answer. Even though I strengthened my muscles with mana the restraints did not come off. Radavanska continued.

【My brother eventually died too. It was fatal as he cut his left arm and then his neck. It didn’t feel good to see my brother die right in front of me.】

For a moment Schlieffen was startled. Come to think of it he remembered that there was a dragon that looked almost similar to him and that his arm was cut off by a newly developed technique.

I see. I was fighting in a trance and had no idea but I cut off his head.

He felt proud when he thought he had killed a dragon. Like many of his warriors he dreamed of dipping his sword in dragon blood.

It was a moment when a faint smile appeared on Schlieffen’s lips. Sigh! Suddenly an intense pain arose in his right thigh.

“Kuh…!”

【What are you smiling about for fun? A scum-like bastard.】

Schlieffen gritted his teeth. Radavanska who was crouching down in front of her growled. His index finger was dug deep into Schlieffen’s thigh which was pinned and unable to move.

Radavanska flicked his hand once and pulled out his index finger. His nails long and pointed like daggers were stained red. he said licking his blood.

【You will have fun with me until your colleague comes. I don’t like doing such petty things as torture but I think I can do it to my brother’s enemies without hesitation.】

Schlieffen again remained silent. The only thing allowed to be said to the captured fighter was to not waste time and to kill him quickly.

If he had achieved his goal of saving his comrades he had no reason to hesitate. But Schlieffen could not bear to say those words out loud. The lingering regret in his heart was making him weak.

‘If I had known it would be like this… I would have tried something.’

Iril’s face was flashing before my eyes. From the moment he first met her she was the woman who grabbed his heart but she was too affectionate to convey her feelings to him.

Suddenly Ronan’s words flashed through his mind. He clearly said that Miss Iril should not be harmed.

“…I’m sorry.”

Schlieffen muttered quietly. It was something that Radavanska would have been very happy to hear but her voice was so low that it could not be heard. An eerie smile appeared on Radavanska’s lips as she heated her index finger in the candle flame.

【Then let’s start by pulling out the eyes first.】

He was the one putting his hand around Schlieffen’s eyes. Kwaaaa!! Suddenly a loud noise that shook the entire floor rang out from the entrance. Radavanska quickly got up.

【Shit!】

The gate leading to the stairs was broken. The dust from the passage was eroding the lair. It was so foggy that it was impossible to see inside.

【…what?】

It was at this moment that Radavanska took her steps. A circular void appeared above the dust that covered the entrance. Wow! The audible sound of the meat being slashed with a kitchen knife rang out.

【Wow!】

At the same time blood spurted from Radavanska’s mouth. When I looked down I saw a pure white long sword growing through my stomach.

In an instant another void appeared on top of the dust and a red lump popped out. A bright eye light was tracing a trajectory along the line of movement. Schlieffen’s eyes widened as he encountered the lump.

“Ronan?”

“This chewy. “I was stuck here.”

It was Ronan. He was covered in blood all over his body as if he had been dipped in tomato stew. Radavanska spat out blood and shouted in an angry voice.

【What are you…!】

He was exactly going to shout. Ronan who rushed forward in a straight line was already close to his chin. Ronan grabbed the hilt of his embedded sword and raised his arm. Sgak! As soon as the red arc was drawn a vertical line crossed Radavanska’s face.

【…ah.】

A sigh escaped from between his half-split lips. Sigh! The line spread left and right and blood and brain fluid poured out from the exposed cut surface. Ronan turned his sword around and slashed horizontally. The head separated from his torso fell to the floor.

Tuk. The head rolling around stopped at Schlieffen’s feet. Ronan immediately swung his sword and cut through the restraining orb that bound him.

“How can we get here…um.”

Schlieffen who had staggered to his feet was about to say something. Ronan who had been rummaging through his pockets lightly tossed something.

Schlieffen grabbed it reflexively. The bloody pocket watch was ticking in his still trembling palm.

“This is…”

Schlieffen’s eyes widened. Clearly he had given it to Ronan himself. With a will to pass on to Miss Iril. Ronan who kicked Radavanska’s head blurted out.

“You tell it yourself. “Wipe thoroughly.”
