“Tell Miss Iril when you get back.”
“…what?”
Ronan frowned at her. Suddenly I thought what kind of bullshit is this?
I had heard this line many times during my time as a punitive soldier which gave me a sense of déjà vu. This was mainly what the guys next to them said when they were sent into a gruesome battle where people were dying. Ronan who soon understood what he meant let out a curse.
“If you think strange things I will kill you.”
“There is nothing we can do to overcome this situation. If you and Asher survive everything will work out. “Let’s take as much time as possible.”
“You’re wasting time Nimmi?”
It was so absurd that I burst out laughing. This idiot was thinking of saving the rest with his own sacrifice. No matter how miserable the situation was it was not something to hear from a kid who had not even lived half his life. Schlieffen nodded.
“okay. There is a possibility that it will be promoted for a while but it is impossible to kill them all. And you know Asher’s condition.”
“That’s…!”
Asher who was hanging on Ronan’s shoulder sucked in a breath. In fact he had almost exhausted the mana in his body. To make matters worse all the mana potions he had brought with him were destroyed when he collided with Naransonia.
Of course Ronan knew that. He just didn’t say anything. He spat on the floor and growled harshly.
“Stop acting arrogant and think about yourselves. “If you say something like that even once I’ll shell out your nuts.”
Schlieffen did not answer. Meanwhile the siege was getting narrower. It was noticeable that he was on guard perhaps because so many of his colleagues had died.
A roar presumed to be that of a dragon was heard coming from outside the tower. Aren’t these two damn dogs the end? It was around this time that the gap narrowed to about twenty steps.
【Now catch it slowly. How long are you planning on being lukewarm?】
【If possible capture him alive.】
The twin dragon opened his mouth. Another look of fear appeared on the faltering sentries’ faces. He seemed to be the type of person who treated his subordinates mercilessly. The sentries screamed and rushed in.
“Kkkkkkkkkkk!!”
“okay. “Come and see.”
A scream mixed like molten metal rang out. As Ronan grabbed the hilt of the sword La Mancha’s sword body turned bright red. Wedge! The moment he swung his sword sideways the fired sword energy cut through the crowd of people.
“Keuek!”
“Kwaeook!”
Sigh! The dismembered bodies soared into the air. Every time the action was repeated blood and internal organs flew everywhere.
“Oh it’s a mystery! “Do not retreat and subdue the intruders!”
However once the sentries started charging they did not care about their comrade’s death. When the lead procession fell those immediately behind them rushed in trampling on their corpses. Despite the continued checks the gap began to narrow little by little.
“shit.”
Ronan clicked his tongue. It was big but there were too many people. I was able to realize that I was screwed because the dragon and Lycophos had not yet come forward.
It’s a big deal. My body is slowly becoming heavier. Suddenly Schlieffen’s voice came from next to me.
“Get out of the way.”
“what?”
Now that I think about it this kid was really quiet. Ronan sensing the turbulence of mana turned his head towards her.
Schlieffen was catching his breath clutching the hilt of his sword with both hands. The sword body which had not yet been transformed into the wind was wrapped in a bluish halo of light.
“you….”
Ronan’s eyes widened. Gooooo…a sound that can only be heard on a typhoon day was pulsating inside the sword body. An unfathomable amount of mana was condensed inside the metal piece waiting to be released.
“Shu Schlieffen….”
“Hmph!”
Asher’s eyes widened. In an instant Schlieffen’s arm disappeared from sight. Quaaaaaaang! As soon as the condensed storm was released the enemies coming from the front disappeared. The wind stretched out in a straight line and broke through the wall on the other side.
“Kwaaaaaaak!”
“What is this…!”
“Huh! “They all have legs!”
Shock erupted from everywhere. There was nothing left where the wind had passed. A wide path appeared in the middle of a space filled with people. People who had unfortunately lost limbs along the way screamed.
【Aaaah!】
【Oh my god Radaskaja!】
Among the victims was a twin dragon. He groaned clutching his torn left arm. Asher covered his mouth with both hands.
“You can’t believe you’re mutilating the dragon’s body!”
It was powerful enough to be called a Biggie. But he couldn’t be just happy. Schlieffen’s face was haggard like someone who had been wandering in the desert for about ten days.
“…It’s definitely tiring.”
Schlieffen stumbled as if drunk. It was clear that energy was consumed in proportion to performance.
“You idiot what are you trying to do by pushing yourself like that?”
Ronan was about to shout something. Schlieffen suddenly turned around and grabbed him by the collar. His grip was quite strong which did not match his face like Saenim. He held his face close and opened his mouth.
“Clean your pocket watch once. “Because there might be blood on it.”
“you…!”
There was no time to say anything. Whoa! Schlieffen threw Ronan into the collapsed wall. The sentries and fanatics who were intimidated by the power of the secret weapon were unable to catch the two flying people. Asher who was clinging to Ronan also flew away.
“Ugh!”
“Oh no!”
“I missed it!”
The sentries were perplexed. When they turned their heads the two had already reached the sky outside the tower.
“You really are an asshole…!”
Ronan gritted his teeth. The floor they were on was moving away quickly. The night wind was roaring in my ears. By chance I saw five or six dragons circling in the sky.
That idiot finally committed it. As if the fighting had begun again a loud noise began to be heard from the floor where they had fallen. Kwakagak! Kagak! Schlieffen’s symbol a slash of wind was seen tearing through the air.
‘Calm down.’
Ronan took a deep breath. My head which was so hot it felt like it was going to burst cooled down a bit. The die had already been cast and we had to cool-headedly find the answer.
Schlieffen probably wouldn’t last long. Since he was the morning star of the empire it would take quite some time but it was impossible to handle that number. If so will I die? Suddenly what one of the twin dragons said passed through my mind.
‘I said I would capture him alive.’
If possible capture him alive. I definitely said that. Of course it might not have been true but now I had no choice but to believe what he said and act. Whatever it is Schlieffen would have done something in vain if he kept his mind like this.
“after.”
After deciding what to do Ronan let out the breath he had been holding. Only then did the blurred surrounding scenery begin to reveal itself. The first thing I saw was Asher hanging by his neck and screaming.
“Ugh! “Quaaaaa!!”
Next he saw a huge lake pouring over his head. The lake which captured the view of the tower and the night sky was as large as any village. Ronan said.
“Asher. “Can you use magic?”
“Kwaaaaaaah! I’m sorry. “I have almost no mana…!”
“It’s almost like there’s a little bit.”
Ronan who was thinking about something swung his sword towards the tower. Quaaaang! The sword energy that flew through the wind collided with the wall and caused an explosion. He pointed to falling debris from above.
“I don’t want anything else Asher. “Just match our speed with those fragments.”
“What?”
“Shouldn’t we hide our location? hurry.”
Ronan urged. There would definitely be people watching this place and if even a single water column rose they would be caught in no time.
“ah…!”
Asher’s eyes widened as he realized what he meant. I don’t know if this will be a trick but I had to do something now. He shouted as if he was squeezing out the last of his mana.
“This invisible hand!”
A friendly spell rang out. An invisible hand grasped their bodies. Although it was only for a moment the falling speed slowed. Pow-! As soon as Ronan hugged Asher their bodies fell into the lake.
Bub bub bung! The fragments that fell almost simultaneously exploded onto the surface of the water. Hundreds of large and small water columns rose over the lake. The guards who were chasing them on another floor stopped in confusion.
“What happened?!”
“I think I fell? Damn it I can’t recognize you like this…!”
The sentries watching the lake clicked their tongues. If I had the same mind I would have wanted to blow it away with lightning magic but I couldn’t because it was one of the places where dragons store their wealth.
“Ugh…!”
Ronan who had been sinking into the water opened his eyes. The water surrounding my body was cold. A halo of light was seen swaying around the water in the distance.
‘I lived.’
Fortunately the speed slowed down and he was able to avoid falling to his death. The lake was deeper and wider than I imagined giving the illusion of being in the sea. Asher who was being held by him vomited bubbles.
“Kororok!”
Fortunately it seemed like there was no problem with his health as he was shaking. Ronan heaved a sigh of relief and started swimming.
All she had to do was land in a place with as few people as possible. He was in the midst of a rapid rise. Asher began to struggle violently as if he was having a seizure.
“Ugh! Turn it off!”
Why all of a sudden? Ronan felt something strange and lowered his gaze. And then it hardened. Something huge was moving in that black empty water.
‘What…!’
Ronan’s eyes widened. It didn’t take long to figure out its identity. A black dragon was quickly approaching this way. The water surface was colored the same color as the night sky so I couldn’t notice it from above.
‘Fuck!’
Ronan sensing a crisis increased his speed. Judging by the fact that it had two wings it was not an Orsay. Of course that wasn’t what was important right now.
‘Why is something like that under the lake…!’
Ronan splashed desperately. However the swimming speed of dragons was much faster than that of humans. It was when the gap had almost narrowed.
[At ease. Because I am not on the Dragon King’s side.]
Suddenly a sound rang in Ronan’s head. He paused and turned his head.
‘what?’
The voice was as dry as a reservoir in a drought. I’m sure I’ve heard it before but I don’t remember. The electric sound was heard again.
[Come into my mouth. I’ll let you run away for now.]
Ronan frowned at the incomprehensible words. I wanted to ask what kind of bullshit that was but I couldn’t because I was underwater.
It was a moment when he hesitated near the surface of the water. Tup! The black dragon suddenly increased its speed and swallowed the two people in an instant.
****
“Ugh….”
Ronan opened his eyes. My vision was blurry like there was fog. An indescribable musty smell was assailing his nose.
The sound of running water was close. He slowly raised his upper body. He remembered encountering a black dragon under the lake but he couldn’t remember much after that.
“…Where?”
Soon my vision became clearer and the surrounding scenery began to come into view. It was like a huge cave and the walls and floor were polished to a smooth finish.
Right next to where I lay a bonfire was crackling. The arched ceiling was so high that it was difficult to see clearly. Ronan suddenly remembered Asher’s existence and urgently looked around.
“Damn Asher.”
Fortunately Asher was quickly found. He was lying down near the campfire just like himself. He quickly looked around and found that he was fortunately breathing.
The cub makes people worry. Ronan sighed in relief and sat down.
Judging from the fact that both of their clothes were somewhat dry they seemed to have been passed out for quite some time. He looked around again and muttered in confusion.
“…Where am I?”
“It’s a sewer.”
“What?”
The answer came from behind. Ronan quickly got up and turned his head. An old man was looking down at himself with his back turned.
“It’s the sewer of the dragon city of Adren to be exact. You won’t find anything like this anywhere on the continent.”
“you are…!”
Ronan’s eyes widened when he saw the familiar face. He was the owner of the tavern where he and Orsay drank. Unlike then his sleeves were rolled up completely exposing his metal prosthetic arm. Ronan asked.
“Is that the one who saved us?”
“You can say that. I’ve been on your nerves ever since the bar. “After hearing the Dragon King’s threat I came to see it just in case but it fell into the lake as well.”
“Wait a lake? In that case you couldn’t possibly be….”
“okay. “It’s a dragon.”
The old man nodded his head. His tone was calm as if he was asking such a question for the first time. He obediently admitted that he was the black dragon that swallowed them earlier.
Ronan who was quite shocked laughed out loud. This time he really didn’t notice. He hides his presence better than Orsay.
“I’m embarrassed.”
“I’m surprised. “Didn’t I tell you that black is good at camouflage?”
I couldn’t figure out what the old man was doing. He suddenly came closer and crouched down. The old man who had been quietly examining Ronan’s face opened his mouth.
“As expected we look alike. “They look so similar.”
“Who do you resemble?”
“It’s hard to pick just one person. Because he resembles both the person I respect the most and the person I detest the most. “I don’t think it came from a religious denomination…”
The old man trailed his horse. Ronan raised his eyebrows when he heard the word church. For a moment the image of a dragon passed through his mind.
Black Dragon A prosthetic hand that replaces the severed left hand. The drifting information was gathered together and a conclusion was drawn. Ronan’s mouth slowly opened.
“…Alibrihe?”
“You know my name after all.”
The old man sighed deeply. Now I see that sparkling mana is slightly leaking from his shoulders. He was fiddling with his prosthetic hand and opened his mouth.
“So what are you guys? “Are you here to ruin my first and last vacation?”
