229. Sea road, to the dragon city (2)
#229
The bisected galleon was slowly opening and sinking. It was a graceful movement like a butterfly spreading its wings. A desperate scream echoed across the sea.
“I’m hungry!”
“Ahhhh! “Help me!”
Those who were lucky enough to avoid the sword jumped from the ship. The people escaping through the cut cross section were reminiscent of a pack of rats escaping before an earthquake. Schlieffen who was watching the sinking sailboat exclaimed angrily.
“It’s softer than I thought.”
“You bastard….”
Ronan laughed. In terms of power and range it was incomparably improved compared to before. The blade that had been blown by the wind was returning to its original shape.
‘A genius is a genius right?’
I thought I had become a little more relaxed because I was messing around with my older sister but it was a complete misunderstanding. No matter what anyone said this child was the best sword on the continent and the morning star of the empire.
Even if we try seriously at this point we probably won’t be able to guarantee a win. At that time Schlieffen who was looking toward the sailboat opened his mouth.
“Does it keep coming? “I thought it would stop if I cut one.”
“ok?”
Ronan shifted his gaze. The two remaining sailboats were rapidly approaching. The shipwrecked people were screaming for help but there was no sign of stopping.
It seemed like taking care of us was more urgent than saving our colleagues. Suddenly a flash of light flashed in front of the two galleons. Whirring! The whistling sound I heard a moment ago spread in succession.
“aha. Are you willing to try to the end?”
Ronan whistled. This time it looked right. Exactly twenty-three shells were flying through the wind.
It was a surprise attack a little while ago but there was nothing we could do to stop it. As he pulled the hilt of his sword a red crescent moon appeared horizontally. The swords fired in a fan shape intercepted the shells. Quagwagwagwang! A barrier of fire and smoke appeared between the two Galleons and Ronan. Shouts of panic were heard all the way here.
“Rain what the fuck is that?!”
The wall soon disintegrated in the sea breeze. The galleons got closer and closer.
I had no intention of giving myself time to reload. Schlieffen immediately took up his stance and swung his sword as if spraying. The blade of wind blew again and hit the two galleons directly. bang! The upper sides of the ships cut diagonally slid into the sea and sank.
“It’s bland than I thought.”
Ronan lowered his sword. I had some expectations but it wasn’t even at the level of warming up. At that time several black lumps shot up like firecrackers above the sinking galleon.
“hmm?”
Ronan feeling betrayed narrowed his eyes. Judging from its size it didn’t seem to be a cannonball but the sunlight was so bright that it was difficult to identify it.
The lumps which flew in a nearly vertical parabola finally got close to a distance where they could be identified. The two young men narrowed their eyes.
“…person?”
“I guess so.”
Heavily armed giants were falling like shooting stars. It was an airborne unit of a type I had never heard of.
It seemed like all of them seemed to be quite heavy and would not be safe if they collided with each other. The giants who made eye contact with the group burst out in anger.
“You bastards! “I will kill you all!!”
“In the name of Drahavier!”
Judging by the loudness of his voice he seemed to be quite heated. Well it was natural because all the ships were sunk before they could do anything.
Suddenly a tattoo on the head of a bald man caught my eye. I had definitely seen the engraving depicting a poisonous dragon before on Aurora Skal.
Damn these guys know how to turn into monsters. Ronan let out a light sigh and opened his mouth.
“Get ready. “They are pretty strong guys.”
There seemed to be about twenty people. There was nothing it couldn’t kill but if it was allowed to crash into the ship in that state this fragile sloop would not be able to withstand and would be destroyed.
It was annoying but I couldn’t do it. If we can just restore the mast we may be able to prevent Itargand from collapsing due to high blood pressure. If we cut it all into pieces and distribute the weight it would still be bearable.
“The key is to knock them all out.”
“As long as there are no big lumps it will be fine. “The boat might get a little dirty but that’s okay.”
“I understand.”
Schlieffen who understood what he meant nodded. The sword body that turned into the wind began to sway. A whirlwind of condensed cutting winds was growling demanding that something be torn apart immediately.
He was definitely a quick-witted guy. As Ronan grabbed the hilt of the sword the scarlet color of the sunset rose up the blade. It was the car he was about to take action on. The bodies of the giants who had been falling helplessly stopped in midair.
“Huh?”
Ronan and Schlieffen paused. It seemed as if a swarm of flies had been caught in a spider’s web. Confusion erupted from everywhere.
“My body can’t move…!”
“What did you do you cowards!”
Looking at the reaction it didn’t seem like that was their intention. Ronan suddenly noticed a shadow over his head and turned his head.
“mast?”
The broken mast had been restored to its original state and stood tall. The ice which gave off a strange chill was joining together the parts that had been broken off by the cannonball.
“This is…!”
Ronan’s eyes widened. Although he was crude he had regained his function as a mast. A frightened boy’s voice came from below.
“Hey! “Don’t yell at the cow!”
Asher who heard the shouts of the giants shrugged her shoulders. His left hand was stretched towards the sky. Schlieffen blinked his eyes dumbfounded. Ronan laughed as if he was shocked.
“As expected I chose one person well.”
“Ro Ronan! “I caught it!”
Asher shouted. Contrary to his gentle demeanor he was a fearsome physical force. Moreover the fact that he didn’t seem to be having much trouble anymore made me think that he might be the strongest among us. Ronan praised him with pride.
“Well done. “Hold on to Asher.”
“huh? Like this…?”
Asher was about to say something. Ronan and Schlieffen quickly exchanged glances and swung their swords at the same time.
Red and blue sword energy was shot towards the giants remaining in the air. Without the slightest hesitation the rushing sword energy passed through their bodies. Sigh! Blood and internal body parts poured out like an explosion pouring down on the young men’s heads. thud! Asher made eye contact with the head that had fallen at his feet and let out a scream.
“Hehehe! Heaaaaa! Hyaaaaaaa!”
“Don’t spill anything and hold it straight.”
“Now wait a minute! Wow! “Someone’s eyeball went behind my back!”
Even though Asher struggled he never released his telekinesis. A one-sided massacre followed. The green-tusked warriors who had received the engraving died without even being able to properly utter a word let alone transform.
“Such cowardice…Ugh!”
“Save me… hehe!”
“Draha…Kyaaaaak!”
Hot blood soaked his head. The dizzying smell of iron bloomed like wildfire. Sticky fresh blood pouring down like rain drenched the deck and the bow of the sail making this sloop a ship more worthy of the name ‘Red Whirlwind’. The sound of a severed body hitting the deck echoed like the sound of rain.
It was as Ronan expected. By reducing the volume by cutting it into pieces the impact on the hull was definitely reduced. Of course it wasn’t completely undamaged but Itargand would have forgiven a scratch of this magnitude. If the sail is stained with blood you can just wash it.
The intestines that had escaped the vessel called the body were hanging like ribbons from the mast and shaking. Within seconds all of the attackers were killed except one. The old man who was tied up in the air alone struggled and shouted.
“Now wait a minute! “Please please save me!”
“Is that so?”
Ronan nodded his head. At the same time the red air that had been fluttering along the blade subsided. Schlieffen who was about to unleash his storm sword opened his mouth.
“Are you trying to dig up information?”
“It’s like that. “I’ll ask Asher.”
“Huh huh huh…!”
Ronan told Asher to get the old man down. Asher who was disgusted lifted the spell that was binding him. thud! An old man lying on the floor groaned in pain.
“Ugh…Ugh! “What the hell are you…!”
“You don’t have to know that old man. If you want to spend your golden years with all your limbs intact it would be better to spend what you know. “Why did they attack us? I wonder what that bastard named Drahavier is doing… or something like that.”
“Gagging!”
Ronan said stomping on his back. He was a wrinkled old man but he had no mercy or courtesy to the person who tried to take his life. The old man who was struggling like a waterfowl barely raised his head.
“I’m going to tell you everything…! So please get this foot out of my way. “I can’t breathe.”
“good.”
“Thank you… I really appreciate it.”
Ronan put his foot away. The old man who was watching slowly stood up. The engraving in front of Mokuldae caught my eye. You engraved it in a very unusual place.
Since there was already a delay I thought it would be a good idea to gather information and go. Didican clearly said that his boss Drahavier goes back and forth between Adren and the outside world.
I don’t know for sure but if you’re in a position to get an engraving there’s a good chance that you know something. Since what was on the other side of the scale was life there would be no modifications. The old man who was caressing his neck opened his mouth.
“I’ll tell you everything as I promised. “What I mean is….”
“What do I mean?”
“What I’m saying is…die!!”
Suddenly the old man stretched out his arms and rushed at Ronan. The muscles of his entire body began to swell and transform into a monstrous form. There was such a big difference in size that it seemed like they were trying to suppress it based on their physique.
“What are you doing?”
Ronan tilted his head at the sudden action. I couldn’t understand. Usually if you show the difference in skill like this don’t you feel discouraged and give in?
He leisurely dodged the attack and swung his sword. Red lines appeared on the old man’s left arm and left thigh. He was just about to turn around again after confirming that he had missed. Sigh! The old man’s left limb rose into the air.
“Huh huh huh!!”
“A happy retirement has passed away. “Why are you doing such a useless thing?”
The one-legged old man fell down sprinkling his blood. Ronan stomped hard on the back of his neck again. This time unlike before the resistance was extreme. The old man who was twisting his body despite the excessive bleeding cried out desperately.
“Get out of the way! “I must kill or capture you!”
“That sounds like it would be difficult.”
“At least be captured alive! I’m saying this for you! otherwise…!”
The old man was about to say something. Suddenly the engraving on his neck began to sparkle. For a moment despair appeared on his wrinkled face. He grabbed his neck with both hands.
“But already…! “Wow….”
The old man suddenly stopped speaking and made a gurgling sound as if he were choking. The engraving of Mokuldae was scattering green light. I didn’t feel very good about the faster blinking intervals.
“If you don’t want to talk just get out of there!”
Ronan instinctively sensed a threat and threw the old man overboard. It was the moment when the body that was flying like a shot put fell into the sea. Kuwaaa! Smoke mixed with green and purple burst out from inside his features.
“Guuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu! Guess!”
The most pitiful scream I’ve heard today rang out. The gas leaking from the nose and mouth as well as through the gaps around the rims of the eyeballs had an ominous color that gave me goosebumps.
“Ugh! “What is that?!”
“This.”
Asher and Schlieffen raised their eyebrows. The old man’s teeth were melting when they came into contact with the smoke. His pupils had shrunk like dried persimmons and were digging into their sockets.
The old man’s body soon turned into a withered flower. Ronan who understood the situation shouted urgently.
“Damn it’s poison. Everyone cover your nose and mouth!”
“Ugh!”
He grabbed Schlieffen by the scruff of the neck and ran to the bottom of the mast where Asher was. If you become addicted to something for which there is no proper antidote things become troublesome. We had to get out of range before the ship suffered any damage.
The poisonous clouds stretched high into the sky without being scattered by the wind. Suddenly a chilling feeling of discomfort passed through the back of Ronan’s neck.
‘Wait…isn’t it scattered?’
There was something strange about it being a simple suicide attack. The old man’s attitude before the open sea imprint was activated. The clouds soaring high in the sky were shining with colors that were easy to see. As if I would show it to someone. Ronan soon understood the meaning and opened his mouth.
“Asher. “Get out of here.”
“Hey! “Uh huh?”
“I don’t have time. “Try using telekinesis or whatever.”
Ronan grabbed Asher’s shoulders with both of his shoulders. Asher who was scared did as instructed. An invisible force was pushing the rear of the ship. In the distance a huge shadow rose above the jungle of the Pashanti Islands.
