227. Late summer turns to fall (3)
#227
The atmosphere became awkward for no reason. Ronan said pointing to the box.
“Well shall we open this first and talk about it?”
“What is this?”
“My equipment from the North. “I don’t know what it is yet.”
The box that came from Aurora Skaar was smaller than expected. At most it was about the size of half a watermelon so I had no idea what was inside.
‘Did you hear something like a hatchet?’
Ronan opened the box. There was a black glove lying around.
The gloves that went up to the wrist like those worn by knights were made of an unknown metal. Asher tilted his head.
“…gloves?”
“This is unexpected again.”
Ronan shrugged his eyebrows. He thought it must contain something like a dagger or a dagger. But I never thought it was even a weapon.
Still it wasn’t bad. As I said when requesting it it was convenient in many ways to use just one Lamancha rather than having to deal with multiple weapons.
“It was well made.”
Ronan who was examining his gloves nodded. I could immediately tell that this was an item with a lot of care put into it. Thousands of small pieces of metal were joined together so precisely that no cracks were visible. Suddenly a question crossed my mind.
“But why one side? “Were there not enough ingredients?”
“Ronan there’s some paper here.”
“ok?”
Asher called him. Inside the box was a thick sheet of parchment. It seemed like they hadn’t noticed it because it was under the gloves. Ronan slowly read the words written on the parchment.
“The gloves are originally meant to be worn on only one side so don’t misunderstand that you have taken them off… Try infusing mana into your hands. “What does this mean?”
“Maybe there’s magic engraved on the gloves. “I feel an unusual energy.”
“magic?”
Ronan brought his face closer. As I squinted I saw that there was a geometric pattern engraved on the back of my hand.
The elaborate magic circle that seemed to have been engraved with his hair extended to the extremities of each finger. The gloves I briefly tried on fit Ronan’s hands perfectly. I really liked that it was moderately tight and comfortable to wear.
‘I told you to try infusing mana.’
Ronan moved his mana as written on the paper. For a moment the magic circle glowed softly and claw-like nails grew from the tips of the fingers of the glove.
Slam! The claws made of black blades pierced the parchment with only the force they grew. Asher shrugged his shoulders and freaked out.
“Hi!”
“Oh fuck.”
Ronan’s eyes widened. Ronan immediately noticed that these claws were made from broken pieces of La Mancha.
I told you to use it to your discretion but I never thought I would use it this way. Additionally it seemed like he could pull out the nails on each finger separately. When the flow of mana was cut off the fingernails disappeared.
“This is good.”
Somehow I liked it more and more. It was equipment that satisfied the various uses that Ronan considered most important in battle. It seemed sturdy and suitable for use as defense. He looked back at Asher and said.
“If I had known you could make it this well I would have asked you to make one for me too. “I’m sorry.”
“I am fine. “It’s enough now yeah.”
“Thank you for saying that. “Then let’s finish what we were talking about…”
“I’ll go with you.”
The answer came back before I could finish speaking. Ronan raised his eyebrows. Asher’s face which had suddenly regained its peace was just as serious as his own. Ronan who was quietly facing him asked the question again.
“Are you okay? “It’s no joke this time.”
“huh. On the contrary I’m glad I could help. “You are my first friend.”
Asher did not stutter as he answered. Suddenly the image of Asher before entering Phileon flashed before my eyes. The boy who couldn’t even lift a single person properly whined and ran away from the Luna Goblin while shedding tears and snot has now become a proud wizard.
‘Time flies by once.’
Ronan twisted his mouth. I didn’t know what to call this overwhelming feeling. Finally unable to find the right words he opened his mouth.
“okay. thanks.”
“But can I go? Wasn’t it a place that didn’t allow human access? “If you hit the dragon’s fire properly…!”
And Asher began to stutter his words like a ghost. The emotion from just a moment ago flew away like sand. Ronan laughed involuntarily and shook his head.
“I’ve already prepared that so you don’t have to worry. And it’s not just the two of us going there’s one more person.”
“One more person? “Who is it?”
“that…”
Ronan was just about to answer. dripping. The door opened with a quick knock. Asher’s eyes widened when he saw the familiar figure of the young man.
“Shu Schlieffen?”
“I was wondering who they would take as the other one but it turned out to be Asher. “I was expecting it.”
Schlieffen nodded as if he knew that would happen. A red dragon-shaped emblem was clearly engraved on the back of his left hand. It was an engraving symbolizing that he was a servant of Itargand.
“okay. “Do you deserve the engraving?”
“It didn’t hurt but it was very unpleasant. “This can definitely be eliminated.”
“Have you been deceived? “If anything I can get rid of it now.”
“Okay let’s finish it quickly. “I don’t like being away from Miss Iril for a long time.”
Schlieffen said. He was such a consistent guy. Ronan had been thinking about recruiting this bastard from the moment he decided to go to Adren.
In some ways Asher and Schlieffen had an uncanny resemblance. When Schlieffen was asked if he could help he agreed without any hesitation.
Even though there was no mention of anything related to this reel or other compensation. When I asked if it would still be okay the answer I got was truly shocking.
– You’re asking a strange question. Didn’t you ask for help?
Unlucky guy. Ronan muttered that with a faint smile on his face. Although he was living a miserable life he still seemed to be blessed. After informing Asher of the details related to engraving he continued.
“Departure is in three days. Using the space travel scroll we will travel to Tandrey Port at the southernmost tip of the continent and from there we will take the ship lent by Itargand to Adren. Does anyone have any more questions?”
“How long will poetry take?”
“I don’t know about that either. It won’t take very long though. “If we don’t succeed we’ll have to fight an angry dragon or Nebula Clage. Either we die or they die but the showdown will come quickly.”
Ronan said calmly. Asher’s face turned pale. Since there were no further questions Ronan declared the group to be disbanded.
“Then just know that. Asher be sure to stop by Ir and get an engraving.”
“Uh yeah. okay.”
The two people left. Now there was only one thing left to do except say goodbye.
Ronan went outside with the documents he had filled out in advance. Varen was not in his office so I had to search for a while. The place where I found him was near the Four Seasons Hill where autumn leaves were in full bloom.
“What are you doing?”
Varen whom I hadn’t seen in a while was with Major Nemea Jaipa’s adjutant. They seemed to get along very well walking side by side holding hands.
It suits you well. They’re a wear lion couple. Ronan approached him while hiding his presence and poked him on the back.
“long time no see. Varen.”
“Huh oh oh! Ronan?!”
Varen who made eye contact with Ronan jumped up. Perhaps because it is a cat its leaping ability was extraordinary. Ronan held out the paper he had prepared in advance.
“Why are you so surprised? “I’m sorry I need you to check this while we’re on a date.”
“It’s not like it’s a date. “With Ms. Nemea…!”
Varen spewed out gibberish nonsense. It was surprising that someone of his size could not do something like that. Nemea who was staring at him narrowed her eyes.
“I thought it was a date.”
“Huh! Of course it is. but…!”
Nemea who was looking at Varen as if he were pitiful sighed. It was hard to believe that he was the same man who had been fighting with Jaipa in the imperial palace. Ronan who couldn’t help but put the document in Varen’s coat pocket.
“I’m going. “Read it later.”
“Now wait a minute! “I will soon…!”
“I’m good at dating. hi!”
Ronan walked away as if running away leaving behind Varen who was stuttering as if he was drunk. It was actually a good thing. The club activity plan which included a plan to wander around the Dragon City in search of Nebula Clazier was not something his pea-sized heart could handle.
****
The plan went ahead as scheduled. After completing their preparations Ronan and Asher Schlieffen gathered in the open space in front of the dormitory at dawn three days later.
The campus was immersed in darkness as the sun had not yet risen. Adeshan who had secretly seen me off asked worriedly.
“They leave as soon as they come from the North. “Please be careful.”
“Nothing will happen.”
“What about Itargand?”
“I’m in the south in advance to prepare the ship.”
She said her goodbyes yesterday but she couldn’t sleep because she was so worried that she knew the details of Ronan’s plans. She asked Ade Shan.
“Are you sure we can’t go together?”
“Don’t worry just focus on student council work. “Mind control won’t work on dragons anyway.”
“That’s true but…I’m feeling uneasy about something.”
“I have to go now. “It’s really okay so go in and get some sleep.”
Ronan lightly kissed Adeshan’s cheek. Her stiff face flushed like an apple.
“I really am. “Everyone is watching…!”
“What do you think?”
Ronan chuckled. Since she was young she had been doing it like saying hello and saying hello and since we started dating she has been doing it almost out of habit. Asher who was watching from behind her clenched her fists.
“…i envy you.”
“It’s dirty.”
Hehe. Schlieffen who was no better spat at her. I could never have imagined that I would be deceived like this by that thunder-naked guy. He lowered his gaze and spoke sternly.
“You are in charge while I am away. “Protect Miss Iril.”
“Bwait!”
Sita spread her wings as if to tell her not to worry. The two who lived in Iril’s house had already become quite close friends. The commonality of her extreme neatness and her love of Iril created a bond between them.
“ruler. Take it.”
Ronan came over after finishing salting her. In his hands was a pile of scrolls that looked expensive. It was a space movement scroll to get to Tandrey Port. If possible I wanted to ask Kratir for a favor but she couldn’t because she was going on a business trip somewhere.
To traverse the southern part of the archipelago vertically seven scrolls were needed per person. An astronomical amount of money was spent incomparable to the rental of a ghost horse but Ronan and Asher had bills previously received from the Grancia family. Ronan looked back at Schlieffen and said with a hint of regret.
“Isn’t this a bit unreasonable? Of course I know that Grancia lives very well.”
“It doesn’t matter. Because saving time is important.”
“thanks. “I heard it last night and your sister was very worried about you.”
“Miss Iril…?”
“okay. “I told you to come without getting hurt.”
Suddenly Schlieffen turned his face. The corner of his mouth sticking out to the side was twitching. I feel a little bad but maybe I shouldn’t have told you. Asher overcome with a sense of betrayal and defeat lowered his head.
“Boo….”
“right. Asher.”
Then Ade Shan snapped her fingers as if something occurred to her. She approached Asher and held out a wooden box the size of her palm.
I had to tilt my head back to look at her face. Asher stammered a question.
“What is this?”
“Marya told me to give you this last night. “I almost forgot.”
“To me?”
“huh. This is just for you. “I told you to arrive safely.”
Asher opened the box with his trembling hands. There were fifteen very small glass bottles lined up in a row. Asher noticed that it was a special special potion for wizards and her eyes widened.
“This…!”
His face brightened. It was a separate gift from the potion prepared for all three people. The feeling of being like shit was completely relieved. Ronan who was choking opened her mouth.
“Then let’s really go now.”
“Be careful.”
Ade Shan smiled warmly and shook his hand. Three people opened the scroll at the same time.
Ugh! The distorted space along with the waves of mana engulfed their shapes. Adeshan closed his eyes for a moment and when he opened them the three figures had disappeared.
