219. Elsia (2)
#219
“I’m transfusing my twin brother Abel’s blood.”
“…What’s wrong?”
Ronan frowned at her. Even if I had told her that she had to pick up dog poop and eat it she would have been less embarrassed. He who had been dumbfounded opened his mouth.
“Why do we have to do that?”
“The reason the Savior’s wounds are not healing right now is because there is not enough blood. And the blood of any race doesn’t match that person’s. “It’s definitely true because the Savior said it himself.”
Elsia explained that when Abel stabbed the Savior she used poison made from her own blood. The poison that weakened his strength and rotted his wounds was its own strategy to defeat his brother who was much stronger than him.
And the operation was successful. The savior who had lived for an incalculable amount of time became terminally ill and Elthea the great spiritist became a caregiver for the sick.
She said she tried everything to heal her savior. She gathered whatever herbs she could find made a cure and delved into healing magic which she had no aptitude for.
There have been countless treatments developed over a thousand years but none of them have had any significant effect. She spoke in a somewhat somber voice.
“So I was making a plan. A plan to save Abel’s blood. But no matter how much I thought about it I couldn’t come up with a solution.”
Elsia let out a sigh of relief. What made sense was that the opponent was the leader of Nebula Clazier and a swordsman of a level comparable to that of a savior.
Taking his blood was almost impossible no matter how powerful Elsia was. Because she was in hiding her identity couldn’t be revealed.
‘That’s difficult.’
Ronan twisted his lips. Apart from being embarrassing I thought it was an incredibly sincere act. Even if they were her biological parents it was questionable whether they would be able to devote themselves to this level.
“By the way Elthea. “Is there a reason you work so hard?”
“yes?”
“You are extremely devoted to your savior. As if helping this person for thousands of years wasn’t enough saving this person seems to have become the purpose of my life. “I thought there might be some story behind it.”
Suddenly I became curious about the identity of a woman named Elsia. When I thought about it I was only preoccupied with the savior and the traitor but I didn’t know anything about this person. Elsia who had been hesitant opened her mouth.
“Umm…Savior literally saved my life. “I can only say this.”
“Salvation.”
She smiled awkwardly and evaded her answer by showing off. Ronan didn’t bother to ask further as it seemed like there was something she couldn’t tell.
Her head was pounding from hearing so much information in the first place. His interest again turned to the Savior’s cure.
blood. I need blood. After thinking for a moment Ronan opened her mouth.
“Wouldn’t my blood that bastard be effective?”
“iced coffee. Of course I tried saying that but the Savior wasn’t very keen. He also added that even if it were possible it would be less effective because the blood would be thinner.”
“Then you’re saying you haven’t tried it yet.”
Suddenly Ronan rolled up his left arm sleeve. His muscular arms were revealed. He said looking at Elthea who was embarrassed.
“Pull it out.”
“That can’t be possible. “From the beginning the Savior said he didn’t want to use his child’s blood.”
“I just said I didn’t feel like it I didn’t mean I shouldn’t use it even if I die.”
“that….”
“Elthea. I need to talk to that person. “There are a lot of questions to ask and you may be able to find a clue to save Abel’s blood.”
There was impatience in Ronan’s voice. There was no time to delay. Even though he was victorious against Nebula Clazier one year was too short a time.
“And by the looks of it I’m quite capable right?”
Ronan briefly explained the tasks he had solved so far one by one. He didn’t like it because it seemed like he was campaigning but he couldn’t help but tease this stubborn person.
Brigia and Terranil Barca…her eyes wavered every time she heard the names of the executives Ronan had killed. Elsia raised an eyebrow as she heard some of Dawn’s powers.
“You can get support from the imperial army? “Were you a soldier?”
“Something similar.”
“If it’s definitely at that level….”
Elthea started muttering something to herself. It seemed she had found hope in obtaining Abel’s blood. As she was contemplating she slowly remembered.
“great. “Let’s give it a try.”
Elsia left her room. She was going to pick up the tools needed for blood collection and transfusion. She was just watching the situation and she asked worriedly if Ade Shan was there.
“Ronan. “Are you okay?”
“There must be something special. “I’ll go back as soon as I finish this.”
“huh? “It’s okay for me to stay a little longer… You’re the father I’ve been looking for.”
“I was looking for a savior not a father.”
Ronan turned to his savior. To be honest she still didn’t quite feel it. He made great claims about being her savior and the founder of Nebula Clazie but in reality to Ronan this man was a bastard who not only abandoned her mother and children but even placed a curse on them.
‘My sister had a hard time.’
Ronan clicked her tongue remembering her days as a snobbery. Of course Ronan in the image world was angry at the death of his savior and fought with Abel. But that was because Abel was so young and she didn’t know that this man was her father.
Ronan gave her blood only to keep a promise he made to the general of her previous life. Because she was going to save the world and to do that she needed this man’s help. While she was thinking about this and that Elsia came back.
“I’m ready. “Would you like to come by for a moment?”
In her hands were various tools needed for blood transfusion including a syringe and a tube. The work was completed much faster than expected.
Elsia who had been a doctor for over a thousand years instantly transfused the blood drawn from Ronan into the savior. Ronan who was rubbing the needle marks laughed.
“It’s fast.”
“Because it’s something I do every time. “I don’t have any expectations but I hope to see progress.”
Blood was flowing along the tube connected to the savior’s right arm. When I think about it I’ve always been injured and shed blood but this was my first time donating blood in such a regular way.
Unlike Ronan or Ade Shan who were secretly hopeful Elthea’s face was dull and calm. It seemed to her to be a side effect of repeating her expectations and disappointments over a long period of time.
We were killing time by talking about various things. She suddenly exclaimed as Ade Shan gasped.
“Over there! “I’m awake!”
“What?!”
Ronan and Elthea turned their heads at the same time. Their eyes widened as they looked up at their savior. His closed eyelids were slightly open.
“Three worlds…! “Are you out of your mind?”
Suddenly tears flowed down El Sia’s cheeks. Her passionate reaction gave a glimpse of the hard work she had done so far. Ronan who had been silently looking at him opened her mouth.
“saver.”
The savior’s eyes were scarlet as expected. The eyes which were the color of a sunset looked exactly like his and Iril’s eyes.
The moment Ronan met his eyes he instinctively knew that this man was indeed his father. The traitor’s eyes were the same sunset color but the impression conveyed was different.
I would say it’s awkwardly warm. I felt what was called affection. Elsia who was shedding tears tilted her head.
“…Savior?”
But that was all. No matter how long I waited the savior only blinked and showed no other reaction. The same was true even if all the blood that had been drawn went into it. Ronan unable to bear it any longer placed his palm on the glass tube.
“Try saying something.”
But no answer came back. I felt like this was the maximum I could do with my money. Elsia wiping away her tears spoke in a bitter tone.
“It’s just as you said. “I think it’s because my blood is light.”
“shit. “Why not just pull out more and put in more?”
“…sorry.”
Ronan chewed his lips after hearing Elthea’s apology. The savior’s words were perfectly correct. It seemed that his own blood mixed with that of his human mother was not enough to cure this monster.
“Plague….”
Ronan cursed. The savior was still only looking at himself. Only his eyes were barely open but he seemed to still be conscious.
The two people looked at each other like that for a while. I had to come to a conclusion before my mind became more complicated. Ronan who was thinking about something opened his mouth.
“…Elthea. “We’ll go back first.”
“Huh? “So quickly?”
“yes. There’s a risk of being tracked… and there’s still work to be done in the north. “I’ll come back later.”
“Aha then do it. Hailan will take you to your destination.”
It felt like I was leaving too quickly but there was nothing I could do. Now that things were like this I had to concentrate on saving Abel’s blood.
Moreover if the church noticing that Barca was dead sent a search party it wouldn’t have been such a disaster. Because that damn tiger was holding the important role of bishop.
He had to quickly finish his work leave and then secretly visit. Ronan and Adeshan immediately began preparing to leave. Elthea said.
“I really have something to tell you.”
“ok? “What is it?”
“If you have read the memories you will know Alibrihe. He heard that he was residing in the dragon city of Aad Ren. “I don’t know if he turned his back on the church like I did but… whatever.”
“…Alibrihe?”
Ronan’s eyes widened. He was a name I clearly remembered. Oddly enough Dragon whose hobby is making prosthetic hands was one of the founders of Nebula Clage just like Elthea. The scene of Abel cutting off his left hand was still vivid in my eyes.
However it was necessary to find out whether he would become an ally. Judging by the fact that the whip Adeshan was holding was also made by Alibrihe there was a high possibility that he was still a member of the church. Anyway this was very valuable information.
“thank you. “I’ll keep this in mind.”
“What? Then shall we go out together? “I have to call Hailan.”
The three people walked towards the exit. Ronan turned his head just before leaving the room. The savior was still staring at him.
“Fuck you.”
Ronan feeling somewhat uncomfortable clicked his tongue. If he had known this would happen he shouldn’t have looked back. Warmth was still radiating from his sunset-colored eyes. He mumbled a little and then blurted out.
“Wait just a moment.”
No answer came back. It was natural. Because I was leaving to hear that answer. After saying goodbye Ronan walked out the door. The iron door closed with the sound of deflating air.
.
.
.
It was cold and dark outside. Green polar lights were streaming down the starry night sky. Adeshan who was literally looking up at the house-sized eagle spoke in a trembling voice.
“This…is it really okay for me to climb on this person’s back?”
“sure. Hyran is my friend. “I said that I can accommodate as many requests as this.”
“Then I’ll be grateful….”
Adeshan held Ronan’s hand and climbed on Hyran’s back. She was once again shocked when she saw that it was much higher than she expected.
Elsia even made her a saddle but she was still anxious. Elsia with her smile on her face waved her hand.
“Come again. Oh you have what I gave you right?”
“For sure.”
Ronan revealed the scrolls in his inner pocket. The rolled-up paper wad had a spatial movement magic engraved on it that could take you directly to the Sea of Ghosts.
She told Elsia that she could use this if something happened or progress was made. She also handed over a bunch of documents summarizing the information she knew about Nebula Clazier and she thought that if she combined it with the information she had gathered from Barka she might be able to uncover something really big this time. She muttered as Elsia pressed her forehead against Hyran’s.
“Please.”
-Puyo!
Hai Lan responded by flapping her wings. Ade Shan was startled and hugged Ronan by the neck. Just before she took off Ronan remembering something snapped her fingers.
“Really Elthea.”
“yes? “Why are you doing this?”
“I actually didn’t hear the savior’s name.”
She almost didn’t listen and passed on. Elsia opened her eyes wide.
“Oh really? “It’s not a very difficult name.”
“What is it?”
“Cain.”
The tone of voice was as if it was no big deal. I could hear her face just as clearly as I could see it. It’s Cain. It was indeed not as difficult as I thought and was an ordinary name.
“thank you. “I’ll come again.”
“Thank you…hiaaaaaa!”
Instead of answering Elsia waved her hand. At the same time Hyran flew up. Quaaaaa! The Prince of Storms soared close to the clouds with just two or three flaps of his wings. The wind roaring in my ears was bitter.
“I’m killing you…!”
“Kyaaaaa! “Wow!”
It was a ride comparable to Itargand. Adeshan was screaming with his eyes tightly closed. It was difficult to tell who was a bird between Hai Lan and her.
In the distance a shimmering light was seen. It was unclear whether Jager’s men were searching for their missing leader or whether the light from the Rundalian cityscape had reached here. The sea of floating ice was rippling beneath the slowly flapping wings.
****
The sky was clear. Where the polar lights and dark clouds disappeared only transparent blue remained shining. The morning sun rising from beyond the sea was bathing the world.
“Ah… we finally arrived.”
“Thank you. Thanks to you I came here comfortably…”
The two arrived in Heiran around dawn. There was a little delay in recovering Aradan Turgeng’s body from the Sea of Specters.
-Puiyooooo!
After dropping off Ronan and Adeshan the Storm Prince returned to Elsia without even looking back. Ronan who was watching the back quickly moving away shook his head.
“What a refreshing bird. “Maybe it’s because he takes after his owner.”
“Maybe so….”
Adeshan spoke in a voice dripping with fatigue. Everything that happened last night felt like a dream.
A seed reservoir and even Ronan’s father in a light-emitting diode glass tube. All of them were unrealistic stories that would not even appear in novels. Suddenly her eyes fell on Aradan and she muttered worriedly.
“We’ll have to find a place to bury it before it decays.”
“That’s right. “Have I heard from you yet?”
The weretiger boy’s body was lying limply on Ronan’s back. It didn’t matter because it was cold here but if the temperature rose even a little the corpse would quickly begin to rot. Adeshan tilted his head when he heard the word “contact.”
“You mean contact?”
“Why did I write a letter when I came here…”
Ronan was about to say something. Sensing a familiar presence the two people turned their heads at the same time.
The silhouette of two people was approaching from a distance in the snowy field. Although there was a significant difference in physique the energy felt was equally intense. The corners of Ronan’s mouth slowly rose.
“aha. “The emperor is also merciful.”
The outline soon became clear. Adeshan’s already large eyes grew even wider. It was the smaller of the two outlines so Nabirose’s grumbling voice could be heard up to here.
“Why is this happening to me because of you cat?”
“Have we finally arrived?”
Jaifa stretched out calmly. I couldn’t figure out how he got here since he couldn’t set foot in the North. Ronan took a deep breath and walked towards the two people. Carrying the body of the Sword Saint’s son.
