192. Where the sky becomes thin (3)
#192
“Let’s go in and talk.”
Navardose pulled the doorknob. The huge door opened so smoothly that it was hard to believe it had been left unattended for hundreds of years. Ronan’s eyes widened when he saw the inside.
‘Why are you so ordinary?’
The room which was just the right size for two people felt ideally comfortable. Contrary to Ronan’s expectation that it would be as bizarre as Jardin’s or Professor Secrit’s office it was filled with only really necessary and ubiquitous items.
There was a long stone desk and a table and chairs for eating. Judging by the fact that they had two private beds it didn’t seem like they were in that kind of relationship. Or maybe they were perverts who enjoyed close contact due to narrow-mindedness.
When I glanced at the desk I couldn’t find a single speck of dust. Ronan tilted his head.
“Didn’t you say it was abandoned for hundreds of years?”
“I put a spell on it to keep it clean. Just in case the boy might come back… Well since that son came to visit me I guess we can say he has achieved his goal to some extent.”
Navardose was looking around the room with eyes dripping with longing. The time I spent with my father was only three years. From the dragon’s point of view it was only a moment but he seemed to be quite affectionate.
“This is a room that existed before this fortress was built. Drimoor was built on the ground that was scooped up around here. ■■ was also the designer of this fortress.”
“Your father designed this fortress?”
“okay. He desperately tried to convince me that it was necessary to stop the enemy coming from beyond the sky. “I accepted because I liked the guts of telling him to eat me if what he said was false and as you can see it was the right decision.”
Navardose laughed. It seemed like she wasn’t an ordinary crazy person when she said something like that to the mother of fire. She sat down on her bed and spoke.
“Now tell me. “How do you know Elthea?”
“Oh that’s right.”
For a moment Ronan was speechless. It was a very complicated story to tell the truth. My father who is believed to be the current Nebula Clazier cult leader placed a curse on me and in order to lift the curse I went to the world of images where he possessed the body of the first Nebula Clazier cult leader and the woman who was his right-hand woman convinced him of the crazy story of Elthea. I had to convey it clearly.
‘She wouldn’t stab the person who saved her son. I even saved her daughter earlier.
Since I was talking about my deepest secret I had to be even more careful. Still Ronan soon made up his mind. In fact Navardose’s innocence had already been proven in his previous life.
‘I did my best until the end.’
He had heard all too well how cruel the fight between Douaru and Navardose had been. Besides there was no way a person wearing such a deadly flame sac could lie.
After gathering his thoughts Ronan began to tell the story of what had happened so far. Except for the fact that he regressed which could be confusing to the information.
“curse…? aha. That’s why you don’t understand ■■’s name.”
“There’s a lot more than that. “Didn’t he mention the curse?”
“Unfortunately that is the case. “He recently had a child and if he ever saw him he just left a message to wish him the best.”
I put it on and I shook my head. Suddenly a question passed through Ronan’s mind. It was a question I had been ignoring because I had always taken it for granted.
“I want to ask you something for a moment. Navardose is convinced that he…blah blah blah is my father. Is there any basis other than his appearance?”
“Because your age exactly matches the time when ■■ last visited me. I remember it accurately because it happened only a dozen years ago. You’re probably not asking about lifespan are you? ■■ is like Lorhorn whom you all know well…”
“Oh I know that. “You don’t die naturally.”
It was a question he would not have asked if the robber had not been a transcendent in the first place. At this point it seemed certain that the person talking incomprehensibly was my father. Navardose said.
“To go back to El Sia’s story… She came to me with ■■ about a thousand years ago. She referred to herself as ■■’s assistant.”
“Josura.”
“okay. Anyway unlike ■■ who disappeared in an instant Elthea was here in Drimore until recently. “She was the most outstanding spiritist I’ve ever seen so I was very sad that she left so suddenly.”
“If recently when? “I think it would be sad if it were dragon standards.”
“About five years. “It really hasn’t been that long.”
Ronan raised his eyebrows. Certainly five years was not a very long time even by human standards. If she could find Elsia she had to see her as soon as possible. There were a lot of things I wanted to ask right away.
In the end you literally hold the key to answering questions such as why you left Nebula Clazier whether the person who came with you is really a robber who currently leads Nebula Clazier and why you helped your father. Because she was a woman. Ronan seeing a hint of potential in her asked her with a sparkle in his eyes.
“Do you know where Elthea went?”
“I remember it. I don’t think it will be of much help. She simply replied that she was from the North.”
“North?”
“okay. “If you search her room you might find something.”
Navardose explained that he gave her a hefty severance pay upon her departure but did not specifically ask her any questions. Because I thought there must be a reason.
Ronan who was looking around her room twitched her lip. She didn’t seem to have much space to hide anything. He brushed her bangs away and expressed his gratitude.
“Thank you Navardose. “I’ll take a look.”
“Thank you. “She just told me what she knew.”
“I’d like to ask you one more question is it okay?”
“of course.”
“How much longer can she last?”
Navardose’s face stiffened at the sudden question. It was like an arrow that pierced the point. After being silent for a moment she raised the corners of her mouth awkwardly.
“…Did you notice?”
“yes. “I don’t think it’s the first time a crack has occurred today.”
“Ahaha…you have a good sense of vision.”
Navardose smiled bitterly. She avoided her gaze as if she was not worthy and opened her mouth.
“5 years at most… no maybe 7 years.”
“also.”
Ronan clenched her fists. She had been hinting that Beni Hardo and Iraniel had been overly skilled in dealing with them. The lifespan of the shield blocking the two skies is running out. Navarre continued as she spoke her eyes fixed on the ceiling.
“The aging of the defense shield is aging but the biggest problem is that those disgusting bastards are getting stronger. Until just a hundred years ago there was no monster that the fire of Bnihardo could not burn. “In the future there may be something that even I can’t handle.”
“Can’t we repair or strengthen the shield?”
“It’s impossible. ■■ called it armor. “It is a protective shield that has been present since the stars we live on were born but it can never be restored using normal methods.”
Navardose explained that a supernatural protective shield called armor evenly surrounds the entire star. The shield that existed even before the first embers bloomed played the role of protecting the star and the life living on it from the external enemies he had cut down a moment ago.
However for some reason part of the armor was worn out creating an environment where external enemies could invade. The monsters that came from the sky outside of the sky no matter how seemingly insignificant they were were incredibly strong so if their invasion was left unattended it was as obvious as hell that not only the empire but also the world would be destroyed.
That was why Drimoor was built. To somehow block out the thinning sky as time passes. Ronan who was putting the puzzle together while recalling memories of his past life twisted his mouth.
‘It’s amazingly fitting. ‘Seven years.’
Seven years from now would coincide exactly with the time when the giants would come down. If nothing else it seemed clear that the collapse of the Drimoore defense line was related to the Advent incident.
‘Are those bald guys the same type as those guys? From beyond the sky…’
This was a question I had from the moment I saw the monster’s true form. Of course the winged bald heads were overwhelmingly strong in all aspects but their unique sense of heterogeneity which was not found in the original world felt very similar to ugly monsters. After finishing his explanation Navardose stood up from his seat.
“So ■■ left. “To find a way to save everyone.”
“How to save everyone?”
“okay. The reason ■■ stayed here in the first place was for that research. Such as creating a shield comparable to star armor or allowing others to wield the same power as oneself. Anyway he was an amazing kid.”
Suddenly Navardose caressed Ronan’s cheek. It was still a warm hand. Ronan could feel her searching for memories of her father in her own face. At that time Navardose who was fiddling with his earlobe said as if he had remembered something.
“Now that I think about it I remembered the prize I would like to give you child.”
“yes?”
Ronan shrugged his eyebrows. Navardose smiled.
“Just lie down on the bed.”
“…yes?”
“hurry. “Let’s finish this quickly because we don’t know when they might attack again.”
There was not a single hesitation in Navardose’s tone of voice. As fifty thoughts passed through his head the surrounding scenery looked completely different. Secret bed. And a beautiful lady. Unfortunately the lighting was also red which made the accident even more biased. Ronan was embarrassed and took a step back from her.
“I’m not confident about rushing things.”
“I will take care of it so don’t worry. “Take off your clothes too.”
“You know what…!”
Ronan took a deep breath. Is this the dragon married woman? Was this evil dragon targeting me from the beginning to lure me underground? Ronan took off her top and lay down admiring the meticulousness of the immortal living race.
“I lay down.”
“okay. He’s nice. “Relax your body.”
Because of the vicious flame pocket I couldn’t see her face while lying down. iced coffee! This is why she should have listened to her sister who told her not to blindly follow strangers!
If I refused I would be reduced to ashes so this was something that could not be helped. He was making a desperately sad expression. An unexpected line flowed from Navardose’s mouth.
“I know that the curse that binds you is not normal.”
“yes? What happened suddenly…”
“■■ was also really terrible. No matter how well you mean it you would do something like this to a child. “I believe in ■■ but I think this is a little off.”
Navardose clicked his tongue. It was only when Ronan lifted her head that he noticed that she was looking at the spot where her own heart was.
“Can it be said that compensation is…curse?”
“okay. But even if you can forcefully remove the curse your body won’t be able to withstand it. But there is only one magic that originates from fire. “I think we can do something about that one thing.”
Unfortunately what Ronan had guessed did not happen. However the compensation she offered was so great that her regret was forgotten. Ronan asked her after calming her emotions.
“…What can I do?”
“nothing. Like I said just relax and lie down.”
“I like that because it’s so simple.”
I couldn’t believe it. Every time I lifted a curse I felt all kinds of evil but I never thought it would be done this way. Navarre said as she placed her hand on Ronan’s chest.
“Relax. “It’s only the first time it hurts.”
“Are you saying that on purpose from earlier?”
Navardose laughed instead of answering. The red dragon’s unique body temperature was reaching the heart. Navardose who was closely examining Ronan’s heart laughed as if he was fed up.
“Now that I look at it I see that there are so many things to grow. “It’s not easy to do this.”
“I didn’t want to end up like this.”
“There are six curses in total… I don’t know how this is possible but some of them were combined together to form a core… Um what is this? “It looks familiar but I don’t know what it is.”
Navarro tilted his head. It seemed like something about her that even she didn’t know was taking up residence in her heart. Ronan who remembered her as a strong candidate was about to say something. Navarre also shook her head as if I was no big deal.
“Well it doesn’t really matter.”
“Ugh?!”
In an instant her hands turned red. Her fierce heat assaulted Ronan’s heart.
