Chapter 2617

Chapter 2617

“So what Renee said was true! There are plenty of other families that want to work with Cynthion

Group. Grandfather what should we do now?” Hugo asked worriedly and felt just as pressured as

Caleb was.

“Don’t panic! We will cross that bridge when it comes to it! We are the most powerful family and we are

better than these other families. It won’t be that easy for these people to win against us!” Jayden

scoffed.

“You are one to speak! You were the one messing things up yesterday or we would have secured the

deal by now!” Caleb reprimanded.

When Hugh arrived at the Morrisons’ mansion he came sincerely hoping to seal the deal. However

Jayden acted arrogantly and tirelessly and encouraged the others to fight for more profit causing the

negotiation to go sour.

However since Jayden was the leader of the second generation in the Morrisons and had great talent

Caleb and the elders always valued him.

Caleb and the elders were also responsible for what happened so Caleb did not blame Jayden before

this.

Still Jayden did not reflect on his mistakes and remained arrogant which provoked Caleb.

He glared daggers at Jayden and his expression darkened.

“I-” Sensing his father’s anger Jayden quieted down.

“Grandfather don’t get upset. Hugh already said that he will prioritize US as partners. Since you are

already here I’m sure Cynthion Group will work with US and not anyone else so long as we are

sincere” Renee consoled him.

After the night before she could tell that Leon was an understanding person and since Leon agreed to

prioritize the Morrisons as potential partners she trusted that Leon would not go back on his words.

However that would be possible only if the Morrisons displayed a sincere attitude and stopped acting

rudely like they did the day before.

“Yeah you’re right! It’s a good thing that I came or your uncle would have screwed everything up!”

Caleb said.

When he initially planned to come to the hotel in person Jayden stopped him. Thankfully he received

the third elder’s call in time and decided otherwise.

All the other influential families were fighting for the opportunity to work with Cynthion Group and

everyone here was either heads or elders of the families.

If the Morrisons were represented by just Jayden and Hugo it would look as though they were not keen

at all and they would not be able to rival the others.

With that thought in mind Caleb felt glad and cast Jayden another glare again silently blaming him for

coming close to messing things up.

“Father I didn’t expect Cynthion Group to be so powerful. I didn’t mean to” Jayden said sheepishly.

If he knew that would happen he should have never asked to come along and would not have been

reprimanded by Caleb.

He practically brought this upon himself.

He lives with his wife and her family who treat him like a slave most of the time. One day, his wife told him that she got pregnant, and he was chased out of the home. Filled with resentment and humiliation over how he had been treated, he found himself wandering all the way to the cemetery, where he saw two men attempting to assassinate a beautiful woman. In his bid to save her, Leon received a fatal stab wound on his chest and dragged one of the men with him into a nearby river… Leon did not resurface even though the woman had waited for a long time, so she believed that Leon had probably drowned. If you're still alive, come and see me sometime…" Beneath the water's surface, a soft voice said, "Iris… What a beautiful name…"
