< Side story 2. Dream Drinking Bird (1) >
#A2
“Fuck…where on earth did you spill it?”
Ronan grunted. He had been climbing the hill of Nimberton since the wee hours of the morning. This was because he lost the sphere in his pocket after the fight with Abel.
‘Anyway I’m upset that I don’t know what it is.’
It was fortunate that I realized it the very next day. Although its identity was unknown it was not an item that could be easily thrown away as the situation in which it was acquired was circumstantial.
I searched everywhere else so this was the only place left. In the dim air of dawn oak trees were swaying in the wind. He was approaching Cain’s tomb.
“Wheeeeet!”
“Fuck!”
A loud unidentifiable sound rang out from somewhere. Ronan startled let out a curse.
“What does this mean?”
I almost fell backwards and fell. Ronan placed his hand on the hilt of his sword. The cries of unknown origin clearly came from in front of Cain’s tombstone. As I approached a familiar lump caught my eye.
A rough surface like shark scales. It was definitely something he had lost. Ronan picked it up and tilted his head.
“…Isn’t this a little big?”

It was that afternoon that Ronan visited Varen. Pileon Tower 13 where Varen resides miraculously suffered no damage even during the war with Nebula Clazie. Ronan knocked a couple of times and pulled the door handle.
“hi. Varen.”
As soon as I opened the office door a sweet smell wafted out. Ware Lion who is 3 meters tall was baking cookies today that were not appropriate for his size. Varen who made eye contact with Ronan blushed brightly.
“Oh the hero who saved the world has arrived.”
“I told you not to call me that. “Why did I gain more weight?”
“Hehehe. Please call it happiness not fat. Deok is also fine.”
Varen laughed. His lush mane was flushed with his plump cheeks. A small human was wearing a large sweater that looked like it could be used as a tent.
‘Damn it. ‘If anyone saw me they’d think I was pregnant.’
Ronan giggled at the unsightly appearance. Now Varen doesn’t wear a suit unless it’s a really important event. His angular muscular body was noticeably plumper compared to two years ago.
It was after Ronan and his friends entered their senior year that his werefigification progressed rapidly. Varen said it was because his marriage was happy but Ronan was secretly convinced that it was because he no longer had to worry about the stress caused by the viciousness of the special adventure club.
“What about your wife? “Is she still a soldier?”
“Ah Nemea has been discharged from the military this year and is now supervising crop cultivation at the estate. “After all it is a managerial position so it suits me very well.”
Varen sat on the sofa holding a tray filled with refreshments. Pukki profit! The seat cushion that was worn out along the curve of his buttocks was screaming for me to stop killing him.
Varen married Major Nemea Jaifa’s adjutant about a year ago. Looking back it would not be an exaggeration to say that Varen at the time was truly the most stylish person in the Phileon Islands. His well-groomed mane was always shiny and his going out clothes were often featured on the pages of imperial fashion magazines.
Is that all he is? Varen who made a remarkable contribution in the war by distributing special potions was additionally granted half of the Bryn Hills Plain. It didn’t take long for him to increase the size of his business and become one of the continent’s richest men.
I can’t believe that such a popular gentleman turned into this kind of pot-bellied man. It was too much compared to Nemea who boasted unchanging beauty even after becoming a married woman. Ronan who was staring at Varen’s belly opened his mouth.
“Doesn’t she mistreat her wife for being the victim of a fraudulent marriage?”
“Hehehe. She actually liked it saying that she had become more dependable than before. Ronan Student…no not a student anymore. Anyway thanks to you I formed a really good relationship.”
Varen laughed. It was truly displeasing for Ronan but he had a variety of tastes in the world so he had nothing more to say. He rummaged through his pockets and pulled out a sphere the size of his fist.
“I’m glad you’re happy. “If you have the time can you take a look at this?”
“hmm? “What is that?”
“It’s something I had in my pocket when the fight with Abel ended. “It was not that serious so I told the professor I would bring it to him but he ended up forgetting…”
Ronan handed the sphere to Varen. As it stands it was something he should have shown two years ago. Varen who was examining the sphere sighed.
“Hmm… I really can’t figure out what this is. I can’t really feel any mana but it doesn’t seem to be a normal ore. “This is the first time I have seen such an amazing material since Sita’s eggshell.”
“Right? I also brought it because it reminded me of that time. “It looks just like an egg.”
Ronan hesitated. The unidentified sphere clearly had a similar impression to Sita’s egg. He continued speaking after chewing a bite of the cookie.
“Could it be a dream bird’s egg? “I don’t know why it was in my pocket.”
“Hey dream… that’s an interesting claim. “If you don’t mind can I do some research?”
Varen’s eyes began to sparkle when he heard that it was a dream. Mar Fez who had been dozing off on his dance desk at home as always opened her eyes.
-Phee?
The blue and fluffy feathers were still there. The dream bird running on the water was Varen’s companion for decades. It was impressive to see that like its owner it had gained weight and increased in size by about 1.5 times.
“As much as you want. Then I’ll just wait…”
Ronan stood up. Although it had only been a day since he quit smoking his hands were shaking due to withdrawal symptoms.
‘I need to at least get some air.’
After all being a good father was not easy. It was just as he was about to leave the office. Sigh. Suddenly the door opened and a familiar woman walked in.
“Ronan. “Were you here?”
“Instructor Butterfly Rose?”
“It’s nice to see you after a long time. How have you been?”
Ronan raised his eyebrows. Perhaps because I was shocked by Varen’s horribly broken body the first thing that caught my eye was his body which was actually better than before. It was clear what went in and what came out and it couldn’t be hidden with a uniform.
‘It has to be like this. ‘People shouldn’t be ruined just because they’re happy.’
Ronan grinned mentally giving his thumbs up. He was determined to never end up like Varen. A shadow appeared on Nabi Rose’s face.
“I guess so.”
“yes?”
There was no time to say anything. Kwasik! Nabirose closed the gap in an instant and plunged the power into Ronan’s abdomen. His body bent forward due to the unexpected surprise.
“Gagging!”
“This shameful bastard. “Follow me.”
Next a hand flew out and grabbed Ronan’s ear. The index finger and thumb that could pierce a coconut had the power to make a grown man struggle like a freshly caught salmon. Nabi Rose left the office just like that.
“Gyaaaaaaaa! “Please save me Varen!”
Ronan screamed desperately but Varen who was concentrating on his research could not hear his voice. Nabirose let go of Ronan only when he reached the roof of the 13th Tower. A bustling campus stretched out under the afternoon sky.
“It’ll be okay around here. “It’s a nice day.”
“What the fuck are you doing?!”
Ronan who had barely escaped shouted. The marks where his fingers had pinched were still clearly visible on my reddened earlobes. Nabirose said.
“I heard everything. “This is so rude.”
“What did you hear from whom?”
“I heard about Adeshan. He’s not even officially married yet but he’s having a child. “If you also have a say make an excuse.”
Ronan gasped at the unexpected words. A cool spring breeze was blowing beyond the railing.
“what. How did you know that? “I definitely didn’t tell anyone.”
“He said it himself. He asked me what I should name him. So I said I would think about it and tell you again.”
Suddenly with butterflies I took out a cigarette pipe from my arms and put it in his mouth. He thought he had quit but it seems he started smoking again. When he saw the smoke blowing away in the wind his hands started shaking again.
“…It’s Southern Toruba Mountain.”
“okay. As expected the leaves growing in my hometown were delicious. “Would you like to smoke once?”
“no. “I’m quitting smoking.”
Ronan clenched his fists. I wanted to take it away right away but I couldn’t do it when I thought of Adeshan who was still focusing on prenatal education.
“The mindset is useful. “It didn’t happen by mistake.”
Nabirose laughed and put out his cigarette. It seemed like he figured out the reason for quitting smoking. After being silent for a moment she continued her words.
“Ronan. Adeshan is my daughter.”
“…yes?”
“It’s a metaphor. “You know that kid is special to me.”
Ronan shook his head. She could tell to anyone who watched the two of them. In fact many of Phileon’s students knew Adeshan and Nabirose as blood relatives.
“And you too are special. “He’s a disgusting guy so he doesn’t look like a child like Adeshan but… I want your lover to be happier than anyone else in the world.”
“Uh…thank you. Then why did I get hit? Because of speeding?”
Ronan asked. I still felt like my stomach was grumbling. Unlike the harsh introduction the conversation itself was usually heartwarming.
“There’s that but… I felt bad for not telling you the good news so I punched him. Even if no one else knows it would have been great if you had told me. “I might be able to help you in some way.”
“Uhm. I definitely should have told the instructor. But haven’t you always been single? “It was definitely the first time she showed her naked body to others… Wow!”
Nabirose’s fist flew in again and landed in Ronan’s stomach. Only after spitting it out did I realize that I would get hit so I didn’t intentionally block or avoid it.
‘Damn I showed it to you like nothing happened back then.’
It hurt even more because I got hit in the same spot again. Nabirose wiped away her slightly red face.
“…Apart from that there is something I can help you with. “Because she is the same woman.”
“Ugh that’s why… I was wrong.”
“It’s done. More than anything else I’m glad I didn’t treat having children as a mistake. “If that were the case she really wouldn’t have left it alone.”
For a moment Nabirose’s voice was low. Her eerie life flashed across her dark green eyes for a moment and then disappeared. Ronan who had been gagging while holding on to the railing lifted her head.
“It can’t be. “She’s my girl.”
“…As expected you are a good guy. “Now that you’re done shaking your head get up and accept my gift.”
“A gift?”
Ronan raised her body and tilted her head. Nabirose who was looking around stepped away from the railing and stood in the center of the rooftop. As if she didn’t want to harm the campus.
“okay. Only you can accept this as a gift. “I have to go to class now so I’ll just show it to you once.”
“yes? “What is that…”
Ronan frowned at her. I couldn’t understand what she meant when she said she was showing gifts rather than giving them. At that time Nabirose slowly pulled out the Great Tae Sword.
“The key is to make the other person understand that you are a predator.”
Ronan was about to ask her a question she still couldn’t understand. Hahaha! Suddenly his vision was covered with darkness. Ronan’s eyes widened.
“This.”
It was a familiar discomfort. Every joint of his body was motionless as if it had rusted.
I felt my five senses slowly withering away. As he caught his breath he slowly closed and opened his eyes. Butterfly Rose had disappeared and one of her giant poisonous snakes was coiled in her place.
“You are already strong enough but the day may come when you will need it.”
said the snake. It was her auror who made Nabirose a sword saint. Her growth could be seen in the snake’s body which was much larger than before.
“Instructor.”
It was an unexpected gift. Ronan was about to say something. Kwaaaaang! A loud noise rang out from somewhere and the surrounding area became bright.
“What the fuck?!”
“hmm…!”
Ronan startled shrugged his shoulders. Before I knew it I was in position as a butterfly with her sword drawn. Their eyes widened as the surroundings became completely bright and the rooftop was revealed.
“Sita?!”
“Pyaaaa…Ppu?”
Sita came out of nowhere and was lying unconscious on her stomach. Because it was so large its four wings protruded beyond the railing. I was unconscious but fortunately it seemed like there were no injuries. Nabirose sighed.
“It seems like he came within range of everything while trying to come to you. sorry.”
“It’s okay because it’s sturdy. But this bastard…”
Ronan trailed off at her. Both Sita’s cheeks were swollen like a squirrel holding her acorn. As expected when I rummaged around in her mouth I caught something. It was an unidentified statue with yellow paper stuck to it.
There was a lot of red writing written on the yellow paper but I couldn’t make out what was written. Nabirose’s eyes narrowed.
“This is…an item from the New World.”
