< Side story 1. Good parents >
#A1
“Ugh… it’s been a while since I’ve been here.”
Ronan reached the top of the hill and stretched her legs. Fluffy clouds like flocks of sheep were playing in the blue sky. As I looked down the familiar sight of Nimburton came into view.
‘Nothing has changed. So that’s a good thing.’
It had been almost half a year since he returned to his hometown. The smell of grass mixed with the wind was familiar. Ronan turned his body and placed his hand on the oak tree that grew on the hill.
“I was so busy that I couldn’t come. “How have you been?”
A small monument was placed beneath the giant tree that had overlooked Nimburton for hundreds of years. The name clearly engraved in the imperial language was engraved by Ronan himself. With careful movements he brushed away the dust and leaves from the tombstone.
“huh? father.”
No answer came back. It was natural. saver. No it’s already been two years since Cain died. Ronan put down his backpack and sat down next to the tombstone.
“So how do you like the view here?”
Ronan asked. After the war with Nebula Clazier he built Cain’s tomb here in Nimburton. It was the exact same spot where he watched the sunset with his family under the sunlight.
“It’s definitely a nice town. Although I failed to educate my younger brother I managed to find a house quite well. “I will admit it.”
Ronan who moved his gaze down the hill nodded. The emperor offered to allow his body to be buried in the main shrine where previous public servants were buried but Ronan refused.
The green vegetation and the river winding through the village had not changed since Ronan was a snobbery. He suddenly felt his buttocks getting wet and he let out a curse.
“Ah shit. “I forgot it was a school uniform.”
The frost came in the morning and then melted leaving the grass wet. The school uniform pants that Adeshan had ironed were probably soaking wet at this very moment. Ronan who was pondering sighed deeply.
“Ugh… I don’t have anything to wear anymore anyway. “I hope you won’t get scolded.”
Ronan eventually decided to sit still. If I wanted to experience something different with Adeshan I could take it out and wear it again but that was something to see at that time. While stroking the tombstone he opened his mouth.
“Well if nothing else I graduated today. “And co-chief with Schlieffen.”
Ronan was rummaging through his backpack and took out his diploma. The luxurious paper was decorated with a gold border symbolizing the senior position in the martial arts department.
“That bastard is so strong. “I don’t know if it was the power of love or something but I almost lost.”
Ronan who was recalling his graduation sparring with Schlieffen burst into laughter. Schlieffen who had crossed swords for the first time in a while had become so strong that it would be impolite to compare him with before.
‘Crazy guy. No matter how much I want to look good to my sister there is a limit. ‘To wrap the entire Phileon in a whirlwind.’
Even thinking about it again it was an insane match. For the first time since the war Ronan even activated his Aurors to compete.
All wizards in the academy were mobilized to prevent the two’s attacks from leaking into the audience. After giving their all to each other the match was ruled a draw due to time limit exceeding the limit. Ronan muttered as if he was fed up.
“I guarantee you that bastard will defeat Jaifa within a year. It’s not the best sword in the continent for nothing. Well for now this is the end of the first business… let’s see.”
Ronan who was suddenly rummaging through his backpack took out a bottle of alcohol. A lump the size of an egg came out and fell to the floor but he didn’t notice. he said
“Now that I think about it the two of us have never had a drink together. “Let’s have a drink.”
It was a perennial snowflake liquor that I had received from Jaipa some time ago. Ronan opened the lid and poured half of the contents onto the tombstone.
It was an expensive item that could be exchanged for four or five horses but it didn’t matter. Ronan said after taking a sip of his drink wiping his mouth with his sleeve.
“Kha it tastes good right? After all there is nothing like this.”
It felt like my esophagus was on fire but that was the charm. Ronan sipped his drink and looked around Nimburton.
There was no change in the scenery itself but it was noticeable that the number of people walking around had increased significantly. If you listened closely you could hear them talking excitedly.
“I can’t believe three heroes were born in such an ordinary village. “Is there a dragon buried in the ground?”
“They say this is the potato field that Lady Iril herself managed. Ugh when will I be able to try his stew? “They don’t even take reservations.”
“Oh are there still potatoes left? If so just take a peek…”
“Arthur. From what I heard this place is protected by Asher’s magic. “Do you think his whole body will freeze the moment he steps in?”
Most of them were people who came to see Ronan and Iril Asher’s hometown. The three people had already become heroes who saved the world and were famous people on all continents. Ronan who was watching the scene laughed.
“I said there was something to see.” “They really have nothing to do.”
The house where Ronan lived in the past was crowded with tourists because it was the hero’s birthplace and all. He took another sip of alcohol and lay down with his back against the tombstone.
Perhaps because the wind was strong the flocks of sheep in the sky were moving quite quickly. I felt like I could talk now that I was sober. Ronan who had been silent for a long time opened his mouth.
“You know. “I also became a father.”
Shoot the wind shook the leaves. It was a month ago now that Adeshan found out that she was pregnant.
“Actually I have to wait a little longer… but anyway.”
I couldn’t remember exactly how long it would take for the baby to come out of the womb. The sight of Adeshan jumping up and down with joy was still vivid in my eyes. Ronan took out a pipe and put it to his mouth.
“Damn I was thinking about having a baby but I didn’t think it would be this soon. We should get married before our stomachs get bigger. It would be difficult for Adeshan to be the subject of strange gossip… Oh don’t get me wrong. Because it’s absolutely not something you have to do. “He is someone I really love.”
Ronan exhaled white smoke. In fact it would be no exaggeration to say that the days after living with Adeshan were the happiest parts of his life.
“Anyway if things continue this way I will get married before my sister. Can you fucking believe it? “This idiot who used to drink and urinate in the barracks has become a married man… So there’s something I want to ask you.”
Starting a family. It was something he could not have imagined in his first life. Ronan finished the rest of his drink and spoke as if he was vomiting.
“Can I be a good father?”
This time too there was no answer. It was natural since Cain was already dead. No matter how much I tried to talk to him as if he were a living person that fact did not change.
In the silence that followed Ronan smiled bitterly. There were times when I resented him but looking back Cain was a good father. During their short time together he left behind memories in Ronan’s heart that can never be replaced.
The thought of what would have been if there had been a little more time was creeping into my mind. For a moment Ronan’s eyes became hazy.
“Fuck you.”
Ronan shifted his gaze to the sky and blinked. He couldn’t show embarrassment in front of someone who had met a better end than anyone else. After staying in his seat for a while he got up.
“…Then I’ll go soon. “Because Adeshan is waiting.”
Ronan packed the empty liquor bottle into his backpack. He cleaned up the surrounding grass and walked down the hill.
“Next time I might come with my grandkids.”
Ronan waved his hand without turning his head. The sphere that fell from his backpack went unnoticed until the very end. He was going down the hill. A familiar voice came from not far away.
“Ah Ronan!”
“ok?”
Ronan turned his head. Adeshan was coming up the hill. His black hair down to his waist was fluttering like a brush dipped in ink.
“Why did you come up when you said it would go down soon? “My body is heavy.”
Ronan frowned. He told me that he would be back for a bit and that I should have a cup of cocoa at the tea shop.
He walked up to him took off his coat and draped it over Ade Shan’s shoulder. She adjusted her collar and smiled.
“I heard the kid is still okay. Anyway Ronan is too overprotective.”
“Still you have to be careful. “What if I fall?”
“But I wanted to show my child my father’s hometown. right? “You missed me too right?”
His Ade Shan stroked his lower abdomen and smiled. She usually enjoyed wearing tight-fitting clothes but after having her child she always dressed loosely.
‘Is this my mother?’
Ronan let out a silent exclamation. She’s not even full yet but she’s showing such sincerity.
Ronan who was thinking about something took out a pipe from his inner pocket. Then he took hold of the ends with both his hands and broke them. Kwasik! Adeshan surprised by the cheerful sound raised his eyebrows.
“Why all of a sudden?”
“It’s not good for you and the child. “I need to quit soon too.”
Ronan said. Adeshan who had been dumbfounded smiled brightly. The two walked towards the village with their arms linked.
“I never thought we would get married first. “I thought Schlieffen and Iril would be faster.”
“That kid has come a long way. “We don’t even live in the same house yet.”
“Hehe but where are you officially engaged?”
Adeshan pulled his arms tighter. The relationship between Iril and Schlieffen was one of the greatest gossips that caused an uproar not only among them but also throughout the entire empire. Ronan chuckled as he remembered his friends.
“The one who has more potential is Asher. Is Marya a normal kid? To think that she would be pressed by those enormous tits every day…”
Ronan who had been speaking suddenly closed his mouth. I could feel a creepy gaze right next to me. When she glanced next to her she saw Ade Shan glaring at her with his eyes raised.
“…Okay I’m sorry. chest. “Tits not tits.”
“huh. “That’s how it should be.”
Adeshan’s eyes softened at Ronan’s hasty correction. For a moment she forgot her promise to refrain from using profanity in front of her child. Looking down at her own breasts she pouted and muttered.
“It’s not like what I have is not enough or something like that right? “Even though I’m not as good as Instructor Nabirose or Marya I’m pretty good too…”
“No way ma’am. “If it’s too big it will be a burden to your child.”
“good. “That’s an answer I really like.”
Adeshan giggled. The two soon arrived at the riverside. Trout were swimming in groups under the water which was the same color as the sky. I was just about to board the raft.
“Yes. Ronan.”
“ok?”
“Can I be a good mother?”
Ronan turned her head. Adeshan’s eyes looking at the river were dripping with worry.
She was the one who commanded the 100000-strong Allied army and saved the world together but being her mother was another thing. Ronan’s eyes widened at her intense sense of déjà vu.
‘aha. ‘Is this what it felt like?’
It was the same question she asked herself a moment ago. Ronan who was silent for a moment chuckled. Unlike her father she was alive and could answer that question herself.
“then. of course.”
Ronan took Ade Shan’s hand. Her anxious expression softened. He continued speaking after getting on the raft together.
“We can be good parents. maybe.”
