< 72. Blood Hook (4) >
#72
“Well…don’t expect anyone to survive.”
The scroll unfolded. A thick mana barrier rose up blocking the entrance to the banquet hall. Ronan grabbed the hilt of his sword and ran towards the vampires.
The distance narrowed in an instant. The vampire acting as vice-captain shouted in a panicked voice.
“Damn it kill me!”
Several vampires who regained their senses raised their arms and aimed at Ronan. It was to keep them in check using magic. At that time the vampire who was chanting a spell collapsed and vomited blood.
“Blood Arrow…gagging!”
One after another other vampires failed to cast and suffered seizures. The vice-captain asked shaking the fallen vampire’s shoulder.
“What’s wrong with everyone?!”
“I can’t gather my mana…!”
The vice-captain’s eyes widened. In reality the banquet hall’s mana was dissipating or flowing back before being materialized into magic. He belatedly realized the existence of the mana-disturbing pieces prepared to deal with Jaradin. The vice-captain shouted through gritted teeth.
“Somebody fucking go get that damn thing!”
It was as if he had completely fallen for his own tricks. Several vampires in the rear ran inside the banquet hall. It was the moment when he turned his head again. Sigh! Before we knew it Ronan approached cutting down two people and thrust La Mancha into the vice-captain’s mouth.
“Kaaaaaaak!”
The vice-captain screamed. But rather than retreating he lunged at Ronan chewing as if swallowing the blade. The tip of the sword that pierced the back of his head was covered in blood and brain matter. Ronan frowned.
“They fight like shit.”
“human being!!”
The vice-captain vampire swung his arm. His nails bristling like spears were weapons in themselves. Ronan lowered his head to avoid the attack and raised his sword diagonally to slash. La Mancha gently parted his jawbone and brain skull and exited his head. The vice-captain let out a scream.
“You won’t die from a wound like this!”
“okay?”
Ronan took La Mancha for a spin and fixed it. He struck fifteen slashes into the vice-captain’s face from different directions. The tattered face was covered with red lines. puck! The moment Ronan kicked him in the chest his head cut into dozens of pieces exploded like a flower pot.
“Guhek…!”
The bouncing body went limp. Kwajak! Ronan said crushing an unknown piece of bone with his heel.
“I think he’s dead.”
The six pieces that made up the head only wriggled and did not recover. It was one of the know-hows I learned in my past life. If it’s a pain to play just cut it to the point where it’s impossible to play.
“Vice-captain!”
He was promoted to vice-leader after being the leader. The eyes of the vampires around him widened. Ronan immediately rushed at the female vampire standing nearby. When confusion and fear prevailed he had to reduce the number as much as possible. Suddenly. Ronan’s slash struck her without delay and her arms rose into the air.
“Kyaaaaaaa!”
Her blood splattered. Her beautiful face was distorted like a demon. It wouldn’t have been bad to make a mess like the vice-captain just did but unfortunately it was too much of a hassle.
Ronan pulled one of his stakes from his belt. Just as he was about to drive a stake into her chest two handsome vampires blocked Ronan’s path.
“Attacking the Lady don’t you even know chivalry?”
“Then you’re screwed.”
Ronan twisted her body. He drove the stake in his left hand straight into the vampire’s chest. Sigh! The moment the stake pierced the heart the vampire’s whites turned pitch black.
“Huh…!”
“What kind of chivalry is this dirty monster…?”
The vampire who was impaled on a stake fell over. He died instantly without needing to see any more. Suddenly the chilling sound of the wind rang in my ears. Ronan twisted her head. Wedge! A brutal slash passed by Ronan’s cheek.
“You avoided this?”
Confusion appeared on the other vampire’s face. In his hand was a sharp saber. Although the decoration was unnecessarily flashy it seemed like a pretty good sword.
Now that I think about it what kind of swordsmanship do mosquitoes use? Ronan out of curiosity used the 1-second imperial sword technique. Kang! A vertical slash struck the saber.
“Ugh!”
The vampire’s posture immediately became disturbed. Although his physical abilities were outstanding it was clear that he had never wielded a sword before. Suddenly! Ronan clicked her tongue as if she was pathetic and she blew off his head in one go. She simultaneously drove stakes into her wasting body.
“Wow the knife is a waste.”
“What on earth are you…?”
The female vampire muttered in a voice filled with fear. She was still regenerating below her elbow. Instead of answering Ronan waved her arm. Pow! The stake flew in a silver straight line and pierced her heart. The rushing vampires stopped in place.
“Drina!”
“It’s not the movement of a magic wizard…!”
“Damn it not in close combat. “Is it still far away?”
In less than five minutes about half of them were incapable of fighting. This was the first time this had happened since the Blood Hook was founded. Ronan corrected her posture and pointed the tip of her sword at them.
“You’re telling me not to think about returning alive?”
It was the moment when Ronan was about to attack again. A shout of joy was heard from behind.
“That’s it! “It’s lifted!”
“Damn finally!”
Suddenly the vampires’ faces brightened. Ronan raised his eyebrows.
‘clear? What do you mean you unlocked it?’
“Hahaha! “You’re done now!”
A vampire with a scar on his face shouted. Suddenly Ronan noticed that the scattered mana had begun to flow normally again. Ronan seeing the mana gathering in their hands twisted her lips.
“aha.”
“Blood Spear.”
A spear made of blood flew towards Ronan. Ronan dodged her attack by rolling to her side. Before he could even stand up an arrow of blood flew past Ronan’s shoulder.
“Uhm…!”
It appears that an item that disturbed mana was disposed of. The offense and defense were reversed. The vampires cornered Ronan swinging throwing and exploding weapons made of her blood.
The scary thing about blood magic was that attacks could be continuously derived from blood-stained spots. In some ways it was similar to Schlieffen’s storm sword.
The stray blood formed a puddle on the floor and the attack continued with thorns and arrows shooting out from there again. The excited vampires burst into laughter.
“Ahaha! “You look like a rat running away!”
“Do you think you guys won?”
However being able to use magic was not the only good thing. Ronan chuckled. The vampire who was shooting bloody arrows frowned.
“what?”
“We also have a child who uses magic.”
It was then. All blood magic projectiles flying towards Ronan stopped in the air. It felt like time had stopped. The vampires’ faces hardened.
“What is it?”
“Why is this like this?”
Shuuuuuk! Suddenly the shapes of the projectiles collapsed and transformed into drops. And then it started to get sucked towards a corner of the banquet hall.
The vampires turned their heads at the same time. A strange creature that I had never seen in my life was hanging on a torch holder with its four wings curled up.
“Pyeol.”
All the blood was being absorbed into Sita’s body. It was the car they were trying to shout something about. Ride it! Sita’s crouching wings spread out and hundreds of blood spheres were shot towards the vampires.
“Kaaaaak!”
The sphere flew at high speed and pierced their bodies. The exploded bones and flesh soared into the air. It wasn’t fatal but I couldn’t move. The bleeding caused by the bullet was absorbed by Sita again and flew out as a bullet.
“I pay the right price for my food.”
“Piyat!”
It seemed like Ophelia had taught him well. Ronan raised the corner of her mouth and rushed towards the vampires again. He knew that Sita’s bullet was aimed precisely at the vampire.
-Poof!
“Ugh!”
-Poof!
“Kyaaaaak!”
Ronan went through the banquet hall and drove stakes into the chests of the vampires that were turning into a hive. Occasionally seeds that were excessively ripened were cut into dice with La Mancha which had reached its limit. The vampires who noticed that Seunggi was fully energized turned their backs and began to run away.
“Run away too!”
“The entrance is blocked!”
The barrier blocking the entrance was still intact. Even if I shot it with blood magic or bit it it didn’t leave a single scratch. In a way it was natural. Because it was a high-level magic prepared to tie Jaradin’s feet.
Pow! At that time a silver stake flew from behind and pierced the vampires’ backs. Vampires whose hearts were pierced died without even being able to utter a final scream.
“…is it almost done?”
Ronan stretched. There were no more moving vampires to be seen. The two that just died seemed to be the last.
“This kid is still falling asleep.”
Zwei was found unconscious with his limbs cut off. During the fight one section was burned with a torch so regeneration was slow. Pow! Ronan kicked him in the stomach. Zwei who flew all the way to the wall and crashed raised his head.
“Whoa whoa…! “How did this happen…”
“Are you out of your mind?”
Ronan laughed. Zwei’s face became thoughtful as he looked around. Silver stakes were driven deep into the corpses of members strewn about. Zwei who came to his senses late screamed.
“Ah…ahhh…!”
He had no one alive except himself. Ronan who was crouching down said while aiming the silver stake at Zwei’s neck.
“Take out the essence of fresh blood.”
It was a dry voice without any emotion. Zwei spit in Ronan’s face and let out a curse.
“You damned bastard! I will definitely tear you to pieces and kill you! The deepest part of hell…”
Ronan wiped the spit from his face. He silently drove the stake into Zwei’s thigh. Deep. A blood-curdling scream echoed through the banquet hall.
“Kkhyaaaaaak!”
“Take out the essence of fresh blood.”
The wound burned and turned black. Zwei did not answer. Ronan sighed and stabbed his left eye with the stake. His limbless body bounced like a fish.
“Kyahaaagh! “Kaaaaak!”
“The essence of fresh blood. “Take it out.”
“What on earth did you do to get to this point?”
“what?”
“Damn it you said it clearly. I’ll help you catch Jaradin Stonesong! But why why…!”
Suddenly Zwei started saying something incomprehensible. Ronan tilted his head. Did a stake pierce his brain? It was the moment when Ronan pulled out the stake that was stuck in his eye.
“…Fuck.”
An intense killing power that was incomparable to anything hitherto hit Ronan. He noticed that Zwei’s gaze was directed behind him not at him.
Ronan slowly turned his head. Apart from the blood and internal organs of mosquitoes everywhere there was nothing to be seen. Only the three people who had been captured as food for the vampires were lying on the table and moaning. Suddenly Sita’s entire body stood up.
“Baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah…!
The blood that had been sprinkled in the banquet hall was being absorbed into Sita’s body. The four wings were vibrating rapidly as if preparing for something. Ronan’s eyes widened.
“Sita?”
“Hyaaaaaah!”
A magic circle appeared in front of Sita. Before Ronan could say anything the sphere was launched towards the stone table. Kwaaaaang! The compressed blood exploded creating a red cloud.
“Hey what are you doing all of a sudden…”
Ronan was trying to say something. The thick cloud of blood cleared and a human figure appeared. A man with a sack over his head was sitting on the table. A gloomy voice echoed throughout the banquet hall.
“I’m disappointed.”
Ronan grabbed the stake without realizing it. He immediately realized that it was that author who was spewing murder. Ronan caught his breath and opened his mouth.
“…What are you?”
He was clearly one of those who had been captured as prey. The man slowly turned her head towards Ronan. A red glow was shining through her thin hilt. The voice rang out again.
“That’s what I want to ask. FALSE. “Where is Jarodin?”
Ronan didn’t answer. Her man lifted her up. The rope that bound his hands and feet had already come loose. Zwei mumbled in a voice filled with embarrassment.
“It’s fake? “That?”
“It’s pathetic that I had such high expectations. “The kids said they were going to make Jaradin one of their servants so I was curious and followed him…”
“Answer the damn thing! “That monster is fake?!”
The man who ignored Zwei took her steps. Ronan grabbed the hilt of his sword. A feeling of intimidation as if I was encountering a natural phenomenon rather than a living thing was weighing down my entire body.
‘Because I’m unlucky….’
Ronan gritted his teeth. It was almost a similar feeling to when dealing with Brigia. At that time I heard a familiar voice in my ear.
“Step back. “This is not an opponent we can handle.”
“what?”
Sigh! At that moment a dark blue hemisphere covered the man who was walking. The blood and shadows rising from all around her became swords and stabbed into her hemisphere. Finally a huge maw made of shadows swallowed up the hemisphere.
“…Ophelia?”
This whole process happened in less than 2 seconds. Ronan turned his head. Ophelia who had clearly said she couldn’t come was standing next to him. She had her eyes wide open and was aiming at her spot where her man was standing.
“huh.”
“Why are you here? “Since when has it been there?”
“I was worried so I followed you from the beginning. Rather quickly take the essence of fresh blood and run away.”
Her tone of voice was completely different from her usual manner. There was not the slightest softness to be found in Ophelia’s face which flashed within her. she mumbled chewing her lip.
“Why is that man in a place like this….”
“Who is that?”
“Balzac von Warsaw. “He is the younger brother of the Shadow Duke.”
“Grand Duke of Shadow?”
I’ve heard her say it. It was definitely a name that was mentioned when teaching Sita. Ophelia compared her Sita’s talents to the Shadow Prince’s childhood.
“huh. “Dominating the world of the night…”
Ophelia was about to continue her sentence. Kwaaaaang! Suddenly the floor exploded and a black shadow rose into the air. There was no gap to intercept. The man covered in her sack landed in front of the two.
