very much so I want you to promise to stay and marry her. If not all of you can’t leave the
fort.”
Hearing that Amber’s face turned red and she protested “Dad you… Don’t be like this. A
marriage will only be happy if both parties love each other. You can’t force people to marry
like this!”
Benjamin ignored Amber and stared at Liam intently. “What do you think? Are you willing to
marry my daughter?”
“I…” Frowning deeply Liam looked conflicted and hesitant. His heart belonged to someone

afraid that he Renee and Joanne would end up miserably if he did not do so.
“No!” Renee held Joanne up as she walked out of the room. She looked at Benjamin

at Liam and looked pleased. “Let’s forget about what happened. I like this kid and I’ll be
happy if he can be my son-in-law even if he can’t be my son. A wife in exchange for two
lives—it’s a good bargain. If you’re still unwilling don’t blame me for being inconsiderate.”
Liam glanced at Joanne whose lips had turned pale. He then urged Renee “Boss don’t
oppose him. Hurry up and leave with Joanne. It’ll be too late if you don’t rush her to a
hospital for immediate treatment. We’ll lose our choices by then.”
“No I can’t leave you here alone. We must leave or die together!”

Liam said softly trying to urge Renee to leave.

disguise for me then.”
“You…” For a moment Renee did not know how to argue. Liam was giving up his future and
love life but he sounded like he had won the lottery. Liam always pretended to be optimistic
so she didn’t worry.
He would then suffer the sadness and grief alone.
Renee felt that she had wronged Liam deeply. He was always the one sacrificing for her
and she just sat back and enjoyed it.
“Don’t hesitate there’s no time. Don’t worry I’ll be fine. My future wife won’t let anything
happen to me either…”
Liam’s words brought a blush to Amber’s cheeks. She braced herself and said to Renee
“Miss [you should leave with Joanne. I promise that I’ll protect Liam well.” “Well… Okay.”
Renee scowled unhappily. She was left with no options.
