Helmut

Episode 10

Helmut is a man. Darian, the first human seen in the Forest of Pahe, is also a man.

The white, round, thin-boned women felt a little strange.

Even at first glance, they were treated differently from the smaller men engaged in labor.

But none of them had a good complexion. A pale, frightened expression.

Several large men moved the women to another building as if they were herding sheep. I closed the door tightly and bolted it.

-Is there a girl you like?

Elaga asked with a purring breath.

“You like it? “I don’t know this person.”

My only impression would be that it looks different. Elaga realized that Helmut was too young to expect any response.

-Now that I think about it, you were still a child.

“What are you talking about. But why are those women rushing into the house? “It’s daytime.”

If men work outside, women work inside.

But those white, pretty women over there didn’t seem to be doing anything at all. Just like the human ruling class.

-Those women are sacrifices.

“Sacrifice?”

-Naho prefers human females whose flesh is soft and easily digested. Those females, with their white, delicate flesh and soft bodies without muscles, become sacrifices to Naho. If they are too small, there is nothing to eat, so we manage them and raise them until they reach maturity. That is why the women who are to be sacrificed are kept in separate custody and raised like that.

“Then those women…”

-Livestock born and raised in the forest of Pahe. This is the only human village. Instead of living safely, eating and drinking as much as he wants during his short life, he becomes Naho’s only meal before he becomes an adult. It slowly pushes its prey into its mouth, enjoying its fear and pain. What a pervert!

Elaga frowned. Helmut looked closely at the building where the women were trapped.

I thought it was strange. How can they live in such a blatant colony in the forest of Pahe?

Monsters prefer weak and soft humans as prey. I can’t just leave it alone.

If it weren’t for the overt protection of a very powerful monster.

“In exchange for Naho protecting that village, is he accepting women as sacrifices?”

-Yes, the ones who actually maintain it are humans. There is a human who rules that village. All the humans over there are Naho’s livestock, and those humans are Naho’s agents. The men maintain the village through labor, and reward the most faithful of the dogs with women to mate with. So maintain a certain number.

“So it’s a farm.”

-Now look over there. The leader has appeared.

A hunchbacked old man with a mean look appeared, tapping the ground with his cane. When he gestured, the tightly closed door opened and the man inside dragged a woman out.

The old man looked up at the frightened and trembling woman’s chin and nodded with a satisfied expression.

“Aaaahhh!”

The woman’s scream reached here and made my skin tingle. The struggling woman was dragged away by the men with her mouth covered.

“Is the author an agent?”

Helmut suddenly remembered what Darian had said. They said there were people in that village who enjoyed eating human flesh. Is he the author who knows how to go out into the outside world?

“What are you going to do with that woman?”

-Eat it, mate with it, or offer it to Naho.

Those words made me feel sick. What can you do? An ecosystem of humans formed to live in the forest of Pahe. He was lucky enough to grow up under the protection of Elaga, so he has no right to criticize him.

-How does he know that guy? He’s good at picking up fallen humans. That man named Darian destroyed half of that village twenty years ago. The restoration has already been completed. If you had been unlucky enough to fall into Naho’s territory, you would have become one of the farm animals.

“Why did Elaga raise me? “If you didn’t want to bother taking care of me, you could have just thrown me in that village.”

When Helmut, who became curious again, asked, Elaga remained silent. Actually, I tried to catch it and eat it, but somehow I kept it alive and gave it food, so I ended up raising it. There was no way to explain that ‘it just so happened’.

Any human would be able to express in all kinds of languages the feeling of not being able to swallow up a young life looking up at them with bright eyes.

But he was a leopard and a monster from the forest of Pahe. Elaga said bluntly.

-There is no need for me to increase Naho’s livestock.

I didn’t want to benefit Naho, so I raised Helmut. To say that someone did it because they didn’t like it is insufficient to explain it because it is such a hassle.

But Helmut nodded. Because Elaga has that kind of personality anyway.

“I see.”

-Let’s go back.

Elaga spat out and lifted her tail. Helmut was impressed by the difficult times that had come again.

They were just about to leave the area.

-Who is this?

Helmut, who could not sense anything, opened his eyes wide. The demonic force that weighed down the air was putting pressure on my lungs. Yet there was not a single sound. It was creepy.

Elaga stopped moving, her face hardened, and she placed Helmut behind her.

-Naho.

-This is Elaga.

-What’s going on in my area?

Ssssss. The sound of the floor being swept and moved was creepy. A figure slowly approaching, radiating a chilling energy.

Helmut looked clearly over Elaga’s body. A strange gray fog covering its huge body. A shaped demon. The bright yellow eyes sparkled like fire brimstone. It had two pairs of eyes.

Two pairs of eyes were gliding through the air like a nightmare.

-…Are you not sleeping?

-How can I sleep peacefully when your venom is all over my territory? is not it?

-Your body is so hot that your smell can travel very far.

Two voices hissed at each other. As the distance got closer, the fog became fainter and Helmut finally saw two vicious snake heads.

I almost ended up hitting my butt in an unsightly way. My legs naturally started shaking.

It was an evil and terrible sight that could make most people faint from fear just by encountering it.

The body, a mixture of gray and black, will be infinitely long. Truly a monster worthy of being called the ruler of copper.

Two pairs of eyes narrowed as they spotted Helmut.

-Let’s see, are you planning to steal a human from my village?

-How dare you steal in my territory?

The hissing became faster. Elaga bared his teeth. Helmut gasped as a growl filled with demonic energy rang out. My heart is weighed down.

Ela was just hiding her claws, but she was as much a monster among monsters as Naho. The magical energy was so strong that it took my breath away.

-Who is stealing? This guy didn’t come from your farm?

-then? Who is it? Ira is human.

-Ah, I’ve heard that before. Is this the human bastard you raised?

-When you grow them and there are a lot of them, you plan to eat them, right?

-That’s not a wise idea. It is best to eat males when they are young.

-how is it? A bite for me too.

Two snake heads took turns chattering and flicking their tongues. It gave me the creeps because it seemed like they were trying to smell Helmut’s body odor in the air.

Elaga was overtly aggressive when she met Naho. But now I wasn’t alone. Elaga said harshly.

-I refuse. You prefer human females anyway. It probably won’t suit your taste.

-Yeah, but he happened to be eating a human female today.

-Erugo said he would prepare it for me.

‘Was that human woman earlier today’s sacrifice? Then that’s why Naho is here.’

Even if I got out right away, it would be too late. Elaga clicked her tongue. I got the timing wrong.

-But children’s bones are soft and delicious. It feels like I’m eating cartilage because I have a decent amount of muscle.

-But… this kid.

-It smells like something I don’t like.

Naho tilted his head and thrust two snake heads. The head got close enough to pounce, revealing its white teeth. The dripping poison crackles and burns the floor.

-Kaaaaaaaa!

An angry roar rent the air. As if a strong wind had struck the wave, the forest shook and leaves fell from the trees.

I felt like my insides were being crushed. Helmut crouched down. It was an imminent situation, as if a fight would break out at any moment. No matter who wins, it will be difficult for Helmut, who is caught up in it, to remain intact.

-Where is it going to rear its ugly head! Do you want to fight?

Elaga instead revealed his teeth to Naho. As if Helmut’s well-being was none of his business, he unleashed his fearsome magical energy to his heart’s content. Somehow it didn’t feel like acting.

The two heads muttered calmly as if they were having a conversation with each other.

-Ah, this smell is okay. It’s that human Darian.

-Humans can’t give birth alone, so it can’t be Darian’s child… What is that child?

-What is your relationship with Darian?

Fortunately, the relationship between teacher and disciple does not exist for monsters.

Naho had no interest in human ecology. To him, humans are nothing more than food worth cultivating.

-What relationship? The only smell is because this kid stole clothes from Darian’s house. It has nothing to do with it.

-Clothes? Yes, humans made outer shells to wear.

-Crude, as if imitating the fur of an animal. You can’t believe you’re wearing something like that!

-Do you humans also wear clothes?

-So you followed suit? Couldn’t you just cut your hair?

Naho flashed his scales and laughed. Like humans, Naho had no animal fur or skin. But his snake skin was far from soft.

Naho’s scales were hard enough to easily deflect incoming arrows. Without carrying demon energy, Elaga’s claws would not be able to tear off Naho’s scales.
