2. A little serious story (2)

#2

Adesán de Acalusia.

The general of the empire and the Duke of Acalusia who reigns over a million-strong army.

A hero who saved the lives of countless people with his quick response when the giants descended.

She was now dying in front of Ronan like a toy chewed up by a dog.

****

“General Adeshan.”

Ronan frowned. Adeshan’s condition was not something worth seeing.

The red-stained uniform was torn and torn losing its function of covering the body. Blood was still leaking from his messy torn arm.

“Ronan…are you a corporal?”

Adeshan struggled to raise his upper body and leaned against the wall. Gray eyes reminiscent of ashes stared at Ronan.

“How did this happen-”

“Wait a minute let me ask the question first.”

Ade Shan took a few deep breaths and then opened his mouth.

“What about Ahayute?”

“I killed him.”

“Are you sure?”

“There is a body not far away.”

“…I see.”

Ade Shan twisted his lips. A single tear ran down her dirty cheek. She looked at her ceiling blinked her eyes a few times and muttered in a dry voice.

“Is he dead?”

Ade Shan hoisted her body up shaking her legs. Ronan quickly ran up to her and supported her.

“thanks.”

“It was something I had to do.”

“I have no time left now. You are a hero. A hero who saved the world.”

“Damn it you’re a hero and all so let’s stop the bleeding first. “The wound is deep.”

Ronan glanced at the wound on her arm and swore into her mouth. White bones were exposed outside the tattered flesh. Ronan gently grasped both of her shoulders and sat her back against the wall.

“I am done. “It’s already hopeless.”

“yes? You called me with a full voice. “Please help me.”

“I just wanted to know whether that monster was alive or dead. “As I already said I have no time left.”

“But we have to do our best.”

Ronan took off her top. Her body well trained like a beast of prey was full of scars. He began to tear off the shirt he had taken off. He was thinking of using it instead of a bandage.

“You are quite stubborn too.”

“I tell you in advance it will hurt a lot. “You may urinate or faint.”

“It doesn’t matter. “If you have to do it do it quickly.”

“I’m going.”

Ronan began tying the cloth tightly around the area that needed to stop the bleeding. Every time her fabric tightened the accumulated blood tore the wound and splashed out.

****

“It’s definitely… a little better. “I’m less dizzy than before.”

“thank god.”

The two people were sitting side by side leaning against a rock. Adeshan’s complexion which had been covered with a cloth had clearly improved compared to before.

“I didn’t know you wouldn’t scream at least once.”

“You didn’t become a general just because of your beauty.”

“…You seem to have a sense of humor more than you look.”

Ronan shook his head as if he was fed up with her. Is it because he is a human with enlightened auras? The recovery speed is abnormally fast.

“By the way… I think you’re the one who should have received treatment not me.”

Ronan was half-naked taking off everything except his pants. Unlike Adeshan his complexion was getting worse over time. Adeshan clicked her tongue when she saw him spitting out blood.

“Tsk this means that the number of friends on the underworld has increased.”

“The general may be able to survive. “If only the rescue team comes in time.”

“Isn’t that the same for you as well?”

“No I can’t survive.”

“On what basis are you jumping to conclusions?”

“I just felt it when I stood up after hearing the general’s message. “I’m dying.”

There was a smile on Ronan’s lips as he said that. Adeshan asked curiously.

“Then why are you smiling? “They say I’m going to die soon.”

“Well…I was really close to going in vain…”

Ronan looked down at his waist. The sword that had never been removed from his body had not been seen since he left his hometown. He seemed to have lost the sheath of his sword when he ran. Although he felt empty he felt nothing more.

“Is it because I can at least die in a meaningful way? “To the point where I don’t regret losing the knife.”

“You are such a strange person.”

The two people talked about various things. Adeshan was a person with much more flexible thinking than he thought. Ronan was surprised to learn that she was from a commoner like him.

“If you come back alive is there anything you want to do?”

“Because you’re going to die.”

“So you said if.”

“I want to go to the sea with the Knights of the White Rose. “Everyone naked.”

“It was a very nice dream. “Anything else?”

“Hmm…I want to go to the academy.”

“Are you talking about the Knight Academy?”

“Anywhere. “I want to learn about Auror and try using magic…”

“Was the rumor that you were unable to develop Aurors true? “How on earth did you catch Ahayute?”

“It was because it was so sticky but after cutting off the wings nothing happened. “I parry or dodge attacks and when there is an opening I slash.”

“If the Sword Saint had heard I would have foamed at the mouth and fainted. “You should apologize to all those who work hard.”

“True General.”

Ronan continued speaking while making eye contact with Adeshan.

“hmm?”

“Even though our kids were shallow they were pretty good guys.”

“What are you talking about all of a sudden?”

“General please use your authority to retrieve the body. “The original rule was to either throw away or collect the bodies of fallen punishment troops and burn them but this time we really wouldn’t have won if it weren’t for those bastards.”

“Corporal.”

“please. “It would be better if we erected a cenotaph or something like that.”

Ronan’s eyes were a mysterious scarlet color like a sunset. Ade Shan who had been looking into his eyes for a long time belatedly nodded his head.

“Thank you. “General.”

“Hmm if you make that promise I guess I’ll have to survive somehow.”

“You can live… even for the sake of the people who died… ugh!”

Suddenly blood spurted from Ronan’s mouth. Even at first glance it was not a normal amount. For the first time embarrassment appeared on Ade Shan’s face.

“Hey calm down.”

“The rescue team… will come tomorrow… until then…”

“Get up corporal.”

Even when I tapped it with my leg there was no response.

“I have to go back to the system and participate in the improvement ceremony.”

She looked at Ronan’s profile. The sound of teeth clashing was coming out of the half-open mouth. Her long dark eyelashes were fluttering like candles in the wind.

“…shit.”

Ade Shan turned her head. Blood flowed from her chewed lip. She couldn’t bear to watch Ronan die. She thought she had become numb enough after three lives but it seems she still had some human emotions left in her.

“General….”

At that time a dreamy voice came out of Ronan’s mouth. She said Ade Shan with a smile on her face.

“The corporal is alive.”

“The sound of rain…stopped.”

“hmm?”

Ade Shan closed her mouth and listened to her. As he said there was no sound of rain hitting the ceiling without stopping. The ray of light that seeped through the crack in the rock was drawing a scarlet line.

“Okay it looks like the rain has stopped.”

“Something…is strange.”

“What do you mean it’s strange…”

Quaaaang!

Suddenly a roar rang out that seemed to shake the heavens and earth. An intense beam of light poured down on the heads of the two people.

“what?”

Ade Shan hurriedly raised her head. The rock that served as the ceiling disappeared and the sky blazing with the sunset appeared.

Her expression distorted as her eyes landed on the sky. An unbelievable scene was unfolding.

“Shit.”

Countless giants were coming down from the burning sky. It was the flapping of their wings that created a violent wind that cleared away the clouds and stopped the rain. The wind that blew over the ground made her hair rise like fire.

“Wasn’t it the end of three people?”

She looked at the descending giants with her vain eyes. Among them there were giants with six or as many as eight wings. Even at first glance it looked stronger than Ahayute.

“So I failed again this time…?”

The giant who was coming down from above swung her arm. A spear made of light rushed straight towards Adeshan. She closed her eyes in resignation. She couldn’t avoid it and she didn’t want to avoid it.

Then a shadow passed before her eyes.

Suddenly!

With a sharp sound the window of light split in half.

Adeshan opened his eyes. Ronan was standing in front of her. Her trembling hand held her sword.

“Corporal.”

“Telekinesis magic wind magic… do you know how to use it? “Anything… that floats…”

“Telekinesis?”

“shit! “Knives can’t reach here!”

Every time Ronan exhaled her harsh breath he could smell the terrible scent of blood. Anyone could see that it was far beyond the limit. Nevertheless he was thinking of swinging his sword at the giants.

The sword doesn’t reach here. That one word brought Adeshan back to his senses. She kicked the ground and threw her body at Ronan. Behind her was a steep slope.

“Oops!”

The two people tumbled down the slope. When they reached the level ground Adeshan appeared to be sitting on Ronan’s chest. Ronan exclaimed in confusion.

“What are you doing? “Right now…!”

Ronan’s eyes widened. Her Ade Shan’s lips covered his own. Her flowing hair tickled her nose and eyes.

Ronan felt a cold bead flowing inside him along with her saliva. The taste of blood unknown to the owner was fishy. Her Ade Shan pushed her tongue into her bead and then removed her mouth.

“Swallow.”

Ronan did so without thinking. I felt her beads traveling down my esophagus. In the sky dozens of giants formed a circular formation preparing to throw spears. Ade Shan said pressing her forehead against Ronan’s.

“What you just swallowed is a bead that turns back time. This is the secret to how I who was just a tailor’s daughter became a general. “I’ve lived three lives with this.”

“What kind of bullshit are you talking about!”

“It sounds like it. So did I. This treasure can turn back time a total of four times but I used it all but once. “I don’t have to tell you why but you understand right?”

Adeshan lifted the tip of his chin and pointed to the sky. The surrounding light gathered into the giants’ hands forming the shape of a spear.

“I decided to walk to you. Even I who had lived many lives could not understand your strange martial skills. “I think that’s the key to preventing the apocalypse.”

“Shit! “Get out of my way!”

“If you want to learn go to Phileon. “It is a place where talented people gather so it will definitely be helpful.”

As soon as Adeshan finished speaking rain began to pour down. There were as many spears as there were giants. Even if I had wings I didn’t think I could avoid it.

“By the way if you go back and meet me will you tell me to stop fooling around and become a tailor?”

“Adeshan!”

My son-in-law turned completely white. The two people’s eyes met. The last time I saw her she had a strange expression neither smiling nor crying.

“I tried everything but there was nothing like it.”

The flying spear pierced both people at the same time.

***

“Huh!”

Ronan stood up as if he was soaring. She hurriedly looked down at her chest but found that her hole was not open.

“This is….”

He took a breath and looked around him. The hellish battlefield suddenly disappeared surrounded by hills filled with the scent of grass. Next to him was a long pole used to herd sheep.

A small village was built at the bottom of the hill. Children were playing on a raft on the river that curved along the village.

The memories didn’t take long. Ronan chanted the name of his hometown as if calling on a dead person.

“Nimburton.”

He felt like he had had a long dream. Ronan reached out his hand and touched his lips. The sensation of the sudden kiss was still vivid. I remembered Adeshan’s words about a treasure that could turn back time.

“Are you really… back?”

He groped all over his body. It was the body of a boy who was not yet strong. Maybe fifteen years old at most? It was only after Ronan pinched his thigh and did a somersault that he realized that what had just happened was not a dream.

“Huh you’re really back.”

A flood of memories cluttered his head. The food I ate the songs I liked the star-filled sky I looked up on my wanderings and the people I lost forever. and….

“Sister.”

Suddenly a person’s face appeared on the surface of the water. Returning to her past also meant that she was still alive. His only family. A kind sister who was never able to meet her runaway brother and lost his life at the hands of giants.

“Sister Iril.”

Ronan muttered and picked up the stick. His walking which got faster and faster soon became a sprint with all his might. Soon the house he lived in came into view.

However when the car had almost come down the hill an annoying noise stopped him from walking.

“On time! Money! What to bring! no!”

“Wrong! “I did it wrong!”

Under a huge oak tree on a nearby hill boys who appeared to be around the same age as Ronan were surrounding and stepping on a child who appeared to be no older than ten years old. Among the giggling faces there were a few that Ronan recognized.

“hmm? “Is that guy…?”

One of them looked particularly familiar. The boy had bright red hair but he was even more noticeable because he was exceptionally short. Was your name Asher? Ronan touched his chin and recalled his past memories.

“…Wasn’t he a wizard?”

Ronan who was thinking about it turned his steps. Even if it wasn’t just because of Asher I didn’t like the way the kids were beating the kids. The pole that I swung as a test made a cheerful sound.
